• S2.3 - THE WELL

    SEASON 2 - EPISODE 3 - THE WELL

It's thrilling when Doctor Who brings back an enemy from the past.
Whilst a lot of sci-fi/fantasy franchises love to revisit fan favourite episodes, very often they fail to capture the magic of the original
episode. MIDNIGHT didn't need a sequel but THE WELL managed to deliver
an acceptable follow-up with a tension filled episode that gave the
Doctor a chance to shine in a proper Dr Who adventure that was more hard
sci-fi in its tropes than cartoon capers like LUX last week.

THE WELL is an old fashioned base under siege Dr Who story where miners
have uncovered something bad on a distant planet leaving them all dead
bar a mysterious sole survivor. The Doctor & Belinda join a squad of
troopers investigating this mining base that has gone silent and find themselves confronted with a monster from the Doctor's past. The script
still leaves out a lot of details and sensical reasoning, as is the norm
these days - connecting the dots often requires a few creative leaps,
with some inconsistencies remaining unresolved. THE WELL still manages
to deliver a high quality adventure making it one of the best Dr Who
episodes of the last few years.

Whether the casual fans are still watching Dr Who is another matter. As
this season gets better week on week hopefully the word will spread and
the unsure fans that have been sitting on the fence will use the
catch-up services to watch these episodes.

A solid eight out of ten episode of Dr Who.

You give 8 out of 10 to an episode where the lead protagonist is written
as a bullying sexually harassing pervert?

Once the word gets around no one will be watching this lazy written woke
crap whose only purpose is to pervert and sexually groom children.
