    SEASON 2 - EPISODE 7 - WISH WORLD

This season's penultimate episode boasts impressive production values,
but it feels overloaded with ideas that struggle to fit within its
limited runtime, making it a bit of a mixed experience. I'd even go as
far as saying, it's a messy episode. As is the case with Russell
Davies's big episodes Wish World is jam packed with ideas and rushed
info dumps that join the dots together but there was so much that was unnecessary about this episode.

It’s tough to form a solid opinion on the Rani's plan to bring back
Omega until we watch next week’s episode. However, at first glance, the excitement around Omega's return seems a bit underwhelming. We had
Sutekh last year and now Omega this year. Many consider Russell Davies
to be a top-tier writer, but his work this season feels like a retread
of last season. His lack of originality is akin to a Dr Who script by
numbers approach. Is it no wonder people have lost interest when it
feels like the main script writer has too?

Wish World, like a lot of Dr Who part one's, will ultimately only be
remembered for how well part two delivers on what this episode has set
    up.
