I hear a deal is almost inked with Netflix for the
continuation of Doctor Who with a new partner. And that kind
of makes sense. Netflix's viewer profile and slate of shows is
rather more LGBT friendly than Disney+ so for the current
style of the show its a better fit.
But wtf is this about commissioning 52 10' episodes of a
Doctor Who animated show for ... cBeebies? Doctor Who for the
under 5s? What kind of a mad idea is that?

Yeah, "Doctor Who" [the main show] is in limbo at the moment as
the BBC touts it out to bidders for the overseas streaming
rights... but in the meantime, let's go forward and commission
some animated kids stories for the cBeebies channel. <rolls eyes>
Weird.
I see how the specification insists that any messages must be
woven “seamlessly” into the plot, and “never to the detriment of
fun, action and age-appropriate humour.”
Perhaps the BBC feels recent eras have been a bit too preachy.
Aggy won’t be able to make up his mind whether to be happy
the BBC has come round to his way of thinking, or worried at
the possibility of more children being groomed!

You're being naive. You know full well that we're in for an

Who are they going to get to play the Doctor? Maybe they should go for
one of the classic Doctors and retcon the entirety of the woke crap
since 2005 out of existence. That's the only way they are going to save
the franchise after the Timeless Child monster and turning 3 Doctors in

No, it wants more of it. Racism is bad, sexism is bad, heterosexual men
are bad, heterosexual relationships are all toxic, therefore an
effeminate and homosexual lifestyle and behaviour must be followed.

Nah, I couldn't envisage a day when I would be watching anything

I guess that depends on where you live, as well as whther or not it is
part ofr Disney+'s international distribution agreement.
Here in New Zealand Cbeebies is available as one of the Sky TV channels
in the standard scription. The regular free-to-air networks also have
shows from the BBC, although no longer Doctor Who of course.

I guess that depends on where you live, as well as whther or not it is
part ofr Disney+'s international distribution agreement.
Here in New Zealand Cbeebies is available as one of the Sky TV channels

shows from the BBC, although no longer Doctor Who of course.
It would be NZCTV or TVCNZ to start with.

The main two main free-to-air TV networks in New Zealand are
"Television New Zealand" (TVNZ) and "MediaWorks", each of which run a
few different broadcast and streaming channels. There are also quite a
few other free-to-air channels that are more niche, although "Maori TV"
does have some good movies in English from time to time.

After saying that, the pre-school shows like "Bluey" and "Pepa

demographic so if this show could grab the attention of that age
group it could do very well for the BBC.

Closer to the "Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures", which is popular,
even with some older fans. The Doctor Who animated show is probably
going to be more like "Go Jetters", aimed at the older end of the
CBeebies audience. Basically involving problems-solving, being kind,
sharing, co-operation, asking for help, etc.

The kids' shows are usually far better than the shows made for adults.
Besides which, despite some people's claims, Doctor Who is actually a
kids' show - always has been, always will be - albeit older than the
Cbeebies audience.
Unless RTD does it. Right AGA?

Nah, I can honestly say I won't. I didn't bother with that

interest in that sort of thing. (I never even watched an

Plus, the grandchildren will be beyond that age-group by

Hey!! Ease Up! My 'second childhood' is a bit overdue as it
is!! ;-P
Go and watch "Bluey" then! It seems to be popular with the
grandchildren ... and it's made in Australia.
'Bluey', i.e. the lead character, is actually a Female ....
and WE can't have a Female as the Lead Character, can we?? ;-P
You knew 'Bluey' was female... so you do watch it!
[Getting back on topic]
Billie Piper is a female too so it's possible the no female
Doctor brigade are going to have to get with the plan... as
don't yer just know RTD will now run with this mad idea of
his the longer he has to think about it...
So Who knows??

back as The Doctor .... just that you SAW her image at the end
of the Episode.
Correct.
Although, we still saw Ncuti's Doctor regenerate into Billie
Piper... the how and why of it remains to be seen.
So Who knows??
RTD!
Is it real, a red-herring, a double bluff... only RTD knows.
BUT, based on what we've seen of his writing efforts this year
he could easily decide what jolly good fun it would be to have
Billie Piper play The Doctor for an episode or two. (Even if
that wasn't his original plan.) Whatever his game plan is, we
all know it's going to be mad and gimmicky.
... and it will probably involve David Tennant!

Nah, I can honestly say I won't. I didn't bother with that
animated K9 thing from a few years back either. I have no
interest in that sort of thing. (I never even watched an
episode of "Class".) Big Finish will keep my Doctor Who flame
alive... and I can read Dave and Agamemnon's episode reviews
here.
Plus, the grandchildren will be beyond that age-group by
the time it gets broadcast too, so I probably wouldn't even
catch an episode inadvertently like I often do with "Pepa
Pig".
Any air dates?
The BBC have only just started looking for partners to produce
it...
So plenty of time for you to produce some off-spring so you can
sit in front of the television screen and watch it with Yadallee
Junior...

Too much colour and movement for me. I was hoping it was like 'The Jetsons'.
Have you seen recent animation lately?

a 'dying' Doctor might/must regenerate into??
I mean, if The Doctors last thoughts were of a 'Companion' or 'a
previous regeneration body' or 'someone they liked back on Gualifry',
might that Memory influence who the dying Gualifreyan might regenerate
into??
