The next release in the 'Doctor Who Collection' Blu-Ray series
has just been announced; Season 13. A veritable classic season
of the show... one of the best, if not the best, season's of
"Doctor Who" there is.
The Blu-Ray release will have plenty of extras to keep us going
during these dark times too... forget Disney+ or the iPlayer,
let's get physical!

No, let's not give these woke retards our money and instead
spend it on something which doesn't constantly insult, attack,
and demean its own audience for not accepting and praising
their sick and degenerate garbage as the bestest birthday suit
ever.
I say buy, buy, buy... the limited edition packaging Blu-Rays
look GREAT on the shelf.

You "might"? Is that your way of saying you made a mistake
and got something wrong?! ;-)
But yes, Jodie Whittaker was Series 13, Tom Baker was Season 13.
It is confusing but the clue should have been that the "Doctor
Who: The Collection" Blu-ray range is for the classic era of the
show.
Plus, I doubt there's ANYONE that would claim Series 13 is one
of the best (if not the best) seasons of Doctor Who out there!
All you had to do was click the link! It's a great set, with
cool extras. If people didn't like SEASON 13 of the show then
there's no hope for them!

No actually, because Series 13 WAS a 13th Doctor series!!!

Of course, it is an easy enough mistake to make (clearly!) so

The sex obsessed child grooming pervert RTD destroyed the entire
franchise so there's nothing to like about it any more.
Then you’ll be happy to learn that RTD wasn’t involved in
either Season 13 or Series 13. He won’t spoil your experience
of either of them. They were nothing to do with him.

my Doctor Who DVDs/Blu-rays and CD's by then though... so we'll
probably have to watch those classic Doctor Who episodes via a
stream to an implant in our brain, or something...

I don't need to think again. I read the article that I posted
a link to here two days ago... did you?
I know what the extras are, but they are just that, extras. The
decision to include the 75 min 2024 edit of "Pyramids of Mars"
was made for the completionists. It hasn't replaced the
original broadcast version.
There's an omnibus version of "Pyramid of Mars" also included in
the set, and that doesn't replace the original four-episode
broadcast version of the story either. That's what these Blu-ray
sets do, they try to include as much as they can as bonus
features.
Yes, RTD is responsible for one of the bonus features, so
"nothing" was not 100% correct... sue me!
Blu-ray range and he had nothing to do with any of those

As I said, I am aware of what the extras on the Season 13 set
are. I posted a link to the original article announcing the
release remember? (Which clearly you didn't actually read or
you would have known it wasn't Jodie's Series 13!)
The original episodes from 1975 are the main feature of the
"Season 13" set, obviously, as they are what constitute Season
13... and RTD had nothing to do with them. People wouldn't buy
or not buy a Blu-ray set because of an extra thrown in on a
bonus disc. Well, unless they were the sort of person that had a
tiny mind!
Fortunately for you, if you can't play Blu-ray discs you won't
have to make that decision.
Plus, Season 13 is one of the best seasons of Doctor Who out
there... really. If there's any Doctor Who classic era box

<face palm> The "Tales of the Tardis: Pyramids of Mars" edit was
broadcast on BBC Four and is on the BBC iPlayer, so of course it
was going to be thrown in as an 'extra'. It's only an hour or so
long and it is not the actual four-episode broadcast story. It
is not a part of Season 13... it is just a bonus feature.
Nobody is forcing an extra thrown in as a bonus down anyone's
throats...
It is a good job I already have the story on VHS.
You can't play Blu-ray discs anyway, so your moans are
irrelevant.
I do have the old BBC "Pyramids of Mars" DVD if you want it
though? I won't need it anymore obviously. So I'll send it to
you free of charge... that can be your back-up! Just say the
word.

I haven't had a VHS player in years. (Decades?) I do still

No, it's the "Tales of the Tardis" episode from June 2024. Are
you not familiar with that series? They are all still on the
BBC iPlayer... check out the first five minutes of any of them
and you will understand the framing structure used for those
edited versions of Doctor Who stories.
The Doctor talks to his companion... in the TARDIS ... about one
of his adventures... and there is an edited version of the
relevant story. Nobody is "inserted" into the actual episode,
the new material bookends the stories. It is on the iPlayer if
you don't believe me!
As you didn't read the announcement article, and are not
familiar with the Blu-ray "Collection" range I will explain it
to you.
The Season 13 set will contain the broadcast four-episode
"Pyramids of Mars" as the main feature on that episode's Disc...
maybe cleaned up and visually enhanced by the Restoration Team
if it needed it. As is always the case.
As a bonus, the omnibus version will also be included. So that's
a movie style version with no episode breaks, as per the old BBC
video releases. (Not every Collection release has these as not
every Doctor Who story was released in that movie-style format
on VHS.)
Also, the "Tales of the Tardis" edit of "Pyramids of Mars" will
be included an extra. This version was only around an hour long
and had enhanced special effects. (It is on the iPlayer so it's
not exclusive to this set.)
So basically there will be three different versions of "Pyramids
of Mars" in the Season 13 Collection package. This is the norm
where there are any different versions of stories out there. As
we all know how nerdy and completionists us fans can be.
You already have the VHS version, the four-episode broadcast
version is on the iPlayer, as is the "Tales of the Tardis"
episode, so you are missing out on nothing by not buying the
Blu-rays. But as a collector I think it's nice to have all the
stuff in one place. One season = one box. Simples.

I do my own Doctor Who watch parties, that usually start
with a 3rd Doctor story... but could go anywhere after that
depending on the mood. Three is always a good place to start
though. I've done two of his stories (from Season 9) this
weekend...
Sounds fun. Are these invitation-only, or could I come?
