    Don't faint ... Disney is actually making something new and NOT another
    idiotic live-action remake of their old movies.

    This teaser trailer isn't particularly useful and doesn't give any
    details - it is really just an electronic music video with a few scenes
    from the new movie.


    Zootopia 2 Trailer: Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde Are Going Undercover
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
    The first trailer for Zootopia 2 has been released.

    The original Zootopia movie was released in United States theaters
    in March 2016 from Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Featuring
    a voice cast that includes Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy Hopps and
    Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde, the animated film proved to be a
    massive success, as it made over a billion dollars at the global
    box office.

    A sequel, Zootopia 2, is now in the works and will be released
    this coming November. Check out the brand-new Zootopia 2 trailer

    What happens in the Zootopia 2 trailer?
    The Zootopia 2 trailer sees Judy and Nick reunited for a new
    assignment. The two of them find themselves needing to go
    undercover when investigating a case involving a snake named
    Gary, who is voiced by Ke Huy Quan.

    "In Walt Disney Animation Studios' Zootopia 2, detectives Judy
    Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by
    Jason Bateman) find themselves on the twisting trail of a
    mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal
    metropolis upside down," the official synopsis reads. "To crack
    the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new
    parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like
    never before."

    Abbott Elementary's Quinta Brunson will voice Dr. Fuzzby, a
    quokka who is also a therapist helping Judy and Nick work
    through some issues in their partnership, while Shakira is
    returning as the pop star Gazelle. Fortune Feimster, meanwhile,
    has been tapped to voice a beaver named Nibbles.

    Zootopia 2 is written and directed by Jared Bush, while Byron
    Howard is a co-director. Yvett Merino produces the film.

    Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures will release Zootopia 2 in
    United States theaters on November 26, 2025. The first movie
    and Zootopia+ television series, meanwhile, are currently
    available to stream on Disney+.

    It's a sequel, so not entirely new. I like sequels, BTW, whether they
    keep everything the same but use a different plot or whether they move
    onward and change the underlying situation a bit. Provided they are
    well done, of course.

    Disney trailers for DTV sequels often feature really great scenes that
    are really great because they are from the first movie. Hopefully,
    that is not the case here.

    This isn't unique to Disney. The sequel to the Lloyd-Webber Phantom
    movie had some really great music in it -- all of it from /Phantom of
    the Opera/. The new music wasn't as good.

    This sounds very promising, although the use of "meanwhile" is
    puzzling.

    I mean, are we /really/ to understand that one casting team was
    assembling the old group, including Shakira while /at the same time
    but in a different place/ another casting team was casting the voice
    for Nibbles?

    That means I might be seeing it in late 2026 or 2027, when it finally
    reaches Prime (for a reasonable rental cost or as part of Prime) or
    Netflix.

    Unless it bombs, of course. It is amazing how much faster films that
    bomb at the box office show up online!
