    I have made two of my children's novels, "The Enchanted Grove" and
    "Cross Purposes" free in the Smashwords ebook editions until the end
    of the 2024, so if you are interested you can get a free copy here:

    The Enchanted Grove
    <https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/1072405>

    Cross Purposes
    <https://www.smashwords.com/books/1167919>

    The stories follow the adventures of four children aged 10-13 (only
    three of them in "The Enchanted Grove" -- the fourth had to flee
    overseas in an earlier story which is now out of print, but a second
    revised edition is in preparation for publication by Shack Simple
    Press.

    In "The Enchanted Grove" the children find themselves up against
    bullies, poachers, the police and witches in South Africa in the
    apartheid period.

    In "Cross Purposes" they have a reunion in England, and travel
    together for a seaside holiday with turns into an unexpected adventure
    that includes staying in Christian and Buddhist monasteries, and
    encountering unscrupulous businessmen, conquering armies, and several
    monsters from the folklore of various nations.

    They are intended mainly for readers in the 9-12 age range, but
    several adults have enjoyed them too, and have written review that may
    be seen on GoodReads and other sites. I'm hoping some more people will
    read and review them because I've been told that if they pass the
    magic number of 10 reviews on GoodReads, they become eligible to
    display a list of books that "people who liked this book also liked"
    -- which means that I might like them too, so it would become a kind
    of recommended reading list.

    GoodReads reviews here: <https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/57308304-the-enchanted-grove>:

    So if you grab a free copy, please read it and write a review, whether
    to praise it or damn it. And please recommend this to anyone you know
    who might also like it.
