About 15 years ago I saw the first video cassette of KOR and at the time did not much care for it.
Reading in raam and the Anime Primer I finally went back to it and
    rented the whole series.  Then
I got a DVD player and watched the subtitled dvds from beginning to end, several times.  I was
involved enough that I read the fan-fiction of the time and got the
    manga scripts and the scanalated
manga.   I printed out art of Madoka and the rest of the crew. Then I
    bought the movies and the
got even more happy with my big investment in the TV series so that the
    movies would begin to
makes some sort of sense.  And the manga has a more sensible ending.
    Sad to say future stories
revolved around the hero rescuing the women and gaining even more powers.
But I also found problems with the story. in that it has an
incoherent idea of time and with the
TV series the intrusion on show business ideas into the stories with the special Xmas episode
and the giant cat monster episodes.
Kasuga should remember always "that with great power comes great responsibility."
