• Whatever became of Get Fuzzy creator Darby Conley?

From Darryl H@21:1/5 to All on Sun Oct 9 07:03:32 2022
Does anyone have a speculation of whatever became of the creator of Get Fuzzy named Darby Conley? I know the Get Fuzzy strip has been daily rerun abused since October or November 2013 and Sunday rerun abused since April 2019. I hope he's not in health or
family situations for nearly a decade or something like that.

But be lucky many newspapers like the Chicago Tribune, New York Daily News, Washington Post, and recently the Los Angeles Times stopped carrying Get Fuzzy in over the past decade. Why doesn't Andrews-McMeel withdraw the rerun abused 7 days a week strip
for all newspapers still carrying the strip??

I have no idea abougt Conley's status, but as for the second question,
why should Andrews-McNeal withdraw something people are giving them
money for? It's hardly a unique situation. Consider Peanuts & the Popeye dailies.

Or the whole of ComicsKingdom’s “Vintage” division. And it’s not all that recent. I remember reading “Pogo̦” books in the 50s, and grew up on the Clare Briggs Memorial Edition, which will soon see its centennial.

For some reason Darryl has a bug about this one rerun comic. You also
have the 99% rerun For Better or For Worse, which has the occasional
tweeks for modern circumstances but otherwise runs as the original.

Frankly, I'd have been happier if Lee Enterprises had gotten Get Fuzzy
reruns over over some of the other choices in their mandated comic
    lineup.
