    Does that work as well with other cartoonists' strips at, say, Arcamax?

    (I gnash my teeth whenever I make a post about "today's" strip for any comic and I forget to take steps to include the date in the URL - obviously, the exact strip gets lost in 24 hours or fewer.)

    I don't know. It depends on if the url exposes the date, and how far
    back their archive goes I guess.

    It’s not an ice-scream scoop, though. You’ll find it in wholesale restaurant-supply catalogs as a “food disher”. Not all of them even look like ice-cream scoops (and vice-versa).
