    More like the lower teenage years, when you stop getting toys and confectionery, and start getting boring socks and underwear instead.

    Oh wait, 65 is Medicare.

    67 is Social Security Full Retirement age for the tail end of the baby boomers.

    In New Zealand you currently get the government pension, 'oldies'
    discount card, etc. at age 65, but there is talk of raising the age
    (like most countries it is costing too much with more and more older
    people and living longer).

    This is how Modern Medicine, with its Extended Life Span, circles back
    and bites society in the a**.

    More realistically, if people are healthy enough to work longer, they
    probably should be doing so -- says someone whose 20th year of (very
    early and entirely voluntary) retirement will come to a close at the
    end of this July.
