Of course I know that the movie is about her, that she's a pretty, nicely-figured musician, song writer, songstress, and dancer. But if I'd ever heard any of her music, I didn't know it.
We were the only people seeing "The Eras Tour" in a large theater with an enormous screen. On our way out, we peeked in to the I-Max to see a theater devoid of people to see the same movie.
I don't understand the fanaticism related to her. Her music is, generously, middle of the road with little to distinguish it. Much of it is danceable many TwoSteps; a Waltz or two.
The complaints I have about programs like “Dancing With The Stars” <
https://groups.google.com/g/rec.arts.dance/c/AUPSNJy6Ih4/m/UklE680a-jkJ> are applicable here. We got brief glimpses of some excellent dancers who should have been on the screen but
that's all we got; brief glances. We didn't get to see much of the results of the choreographers' work.
I would have liked to see more of the wonderful sets. Again, we got brief glances of what the magic they could perform but that's about it. The thousands of cuts were so frequent, some briefer than a full second, that we often didn't know where to look.
And of course there were pans and zooms that were mere nuisances that contributed nothing to the viewing experience.
I'm not complaining that we went to see it but, if you're not a Swiftie, I don't recommend it.
