PP 745-749 of A Memory of Light:
Rand shows the Dark One his ideal world, one in which the Dark One
died during the Last Battle. 100 years later, there is no war,
poverty, or hunger. No one carries any weapons, not even the Aiel.
The doors have no locks, and there are no guards at the Palace in
Camelyn. Not even any money, as there is enough for everyone.
Everyone seems obsessed with taking care of the children.
Rand visits Queen Elayne, and sees something off about her. "The tone
seemed off, and the mannerisms wrong". Rand's POV describes Elayne's
comments about the good weather and her love of sitting in her garden
and enjoying the sunlight as "That simpering tone, that vapid reaction...Elayne had never been like that."
Rand also finds it wrong that Aviendha would seek to spend all her
time caring for other peoples' children.
Rand looks into Elayne's eyes, and find a shadow, an innocent shadow,
but a shadow nevertheless. It was like the shadow behind someone
who's been Turned to the Dark One!
How would removing the Dark One completely cause everyone to become
vapid and simpering and not themselves?

How would removing the Dark One completely cause everyone to becomeBecause the Dark, like the Light, is a part of a person's humanity.

Remove the Light by forced-turning, and as Androl and his friends
noted, the person is dead and what remains is something inhuman
looking out through the eyes. Remove the Dark by the
equal-and-opposite process, and the same thing happens.
