Well, that certainly sounds awful. I'm more of a DC reader, but I'm
still shaking my head at how they seem determined to destroy their own >franchise.

Hopefully this is the last of those types of shows since this was
filmed back in 2022. Before they started canceling so many shows to
supposedly focus on quality over quantity.

I'll never understand why those fools don't create a vehicle for Storm,
who is already a black woman and has been popular for many decades.

Because Storm is well enough known that there's no opportunity for a
writer to make their mark on the character without getting push back.

Also, they don’t own storm, she’s presumably Fox property

I see. I guess that would explain it.

Nope. Disney owns Fox (or at least a large proportion of it) - they
bought 21st Century Fox in 2019 for around US$71billion, and that
includes Marvel (i.e. Disney) now owning the rights to the X-Men
    franchise again.

But that’s a recent development. It still explains why people
haven’t been pushing a storm series in the past.

Don't worry, I'm sure when their idea tank dries up some more
they will find a way to destroy "Storm" in some way, shape or
    form too.

Back on-topic; we watched the first episode of "Ironheart" on
Disney+ last night... it's very slow and a little bit dumbed
down. There wasn't a lot of excitement in the first episode to
grip me... Mrs Blueshirt was delighted to see Atwater from
Chicago PD in it though, in a very small role. (Chicago PD is
one of her favourite shows.) But overall we both found it a bit
dull and slow paced. We might get to watch the second episode
    later tonight...

"Ironheart" can't be as bad as "The Acolyte" though so we'll
surely manage to get through the first three episodes at some
stage and hopefully it livens up a bit by the time the next
    three episodes drop.

This is an error. Disney did not get the whole company.

21st Century Fox was formed in 2013 when Rupert Murdoch spun off
entertainment and broadcasting from News Corp, which largely kept
publishing. But as part of the sale to Disney, there was a further spin
off of broadcast (Murdoch retained the television licenses), Fox News,
sports, business news, and a few other things.

Disney got 20th Century Fox, which was renamed 20th Century Studios. Disney also got sister company 20th Television.

Disney specifically was not allowed to use the Fox trademark, for
William Fox, the founder of one of the constituent movie studios.

The statement I was replying to was that Disney don't own the rights.

Fox could also have made a Storm movie themselves when they owned the
    X-men rights.

Yeah, the pacing in episode two never improved... "Ironheart" is
fairly dull to watch. We didn't bother with another episode
after that as the football was on... we might not go back to it
either, as neither of us are impressed with it. These
slow-builds are taking the audience for granted, there needs to

Yes, it is... three episodes dropped on Disney+ last week and
the final three episodes are due to be released on Tuesday.

Based on what I have seen of "Ironheart" so far I reckon they
could have fitted the story in to three episodes and lost

Back on-topic; we watched the first episode of "Ironheart" on
Disney+ last night... it's very slow and a little bit dumbed
down. There wasn't a lot of excitement in the first episode
    to grip me...

I liked her stealing the suit and flying to Chicago, but that
    was about it

And THAT was about the only exciting thing in the first episode!

Mrs Blueshirt was delighted to see Atwater from
Chicago PD in it though, in a very small role. (Chicago PD is
one of her favourite shows.) But overall we both found it a
bit dull and slow paced. We might get to watch the second
    episode later tonight...

"Ironheart" can't be as bad as "The Acolyte" though so we'll
surely manage to get through the first three episodes at some
stage and hopefully it livens up a bit by the time the next
    three episodes drop.

I’ve fallen asleep during episode two twice now.

Yeah, the pacing in episode two never improved... "Ironheart" is
fairly dull to watch. We didn't bother with another episode
after that as the football was on... we might not go back to it
either, as neither of us are impressed with it. These
slow-builds are taking the audience for granted, there needs to
be something to keep you watching... "Ironheart" is not doing
that for us. They could have made one episode out of the first
two and had the same content minus the sleepy bits.

Fell asleep for a third time during episode two last night. Maybe I should >> just keep this handy as a sleep aid.

Isn't this supposed to be a six episode "limited" series? At least
that's what the ad I saw for it said.

That’s what Ian’s IMDb article on the show says. Although I heard somewhere that he is sometimes wrong.
