A spin-off trilogy of movies, not part of the Skywalker Saga. Of
course, this is about the fourth trilogy of spin-off movies said to be
being made with the previous ones getting dropped or stuck in
"development hell". With Kathleen Kennedy still in chrage, if they ever
get made, these will just be more 'Politically Correct' garbage ticking
as many quota boxes as she can.

New Star Wars Trilogy On The Way
    --------------------------------
Deadline.com is reporting a new Star Wars trilogy that
does not follow the Skywalker Saga in the works. The
films will be written by Simon Kinberg who is no
stranger to the franchise as he worked on both Star
Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Kinberg
will also produce the trio of movies along with
    Lucasfilm President, Kathleen Kennedy.

No further details have been provided and Disney and
Lucasfilm have not confirmed or denied the report yet.
We'll have more as it develops.

To expect otherwise would be foolish.

The first trilogy's success was never about storytelling, but creative
ideas. It's difficult to stay creative for decades. :)

Part of the problem is all the "Political Correctness" nonsense they
keep trying to shovel in these days.

Another part is the new idiots always think they know better than the
person who created the original as to what "Star Wars" should be like
and/or want to "add their own stamp" ... and simply create an
    ill-fitting mess.

The same happens will every other franchise that is around for a long
time. Thankfully Star Wars has not yet had a moronic "reboot" attempt,
although the silly Sequel Trilogy is almost one in everything but name.

(Groan) Oh man, not again. Here we go. I just hope this gets
cancelled before it really starts to become a thing.

Either that, or they re-discover what made the original movies. At least
the part about good characters in a simple plot, that have fun adventures together, go through thick and thin together. It's gotta be good, it's
    gotta be coherent.

Then sprinkle it with good music, good editing, good writing.

That's everything the Sequel Trilogy was not. :-(
It was mostly just a lazy re-working of the original movies with a load
    of Politically Correct changes.

There are a load of upcoming Star Wars movies and TV shows in the
pipeline, although some may not ever happen. <https://www.polygon.com/star-wars/23672528/star-wars-movies-tv-schedule-calendar-upcoming>

Sounds like season 11 of 'The Walking Dead' (and all the spin-offs).
