Geez, that's one of the last things Star Wars needs. The Star Wars
franchise has built itself using mostly near-unknown actors. We do not
need some big-headed, relatively big-name, idiot 'star' screwing up the franchise even further. Money-grubbing Disney simply proving yet again
that they have no understanding of "Star Wars". :-(

Ryan Gosling to Star in Shawn Levy's Star Wars Movie
    ----------------------------------------------------
In a surprising bit of news, THR is reporting that Ryan Gosling
is in talks to star in the upcoming Star Wars movie that Shawn
    Levy will direct.

What do we know about Shawn Levy's Star Wars movie?
The report notes that Gosling is in negotiations to travel to a
galaxy far, far away, and take a lead role in the upcoming
movie. Details on pretty much anything regarding the movie are
unknown as of now, and it's unknown when the project takes
place in Star Wars' expansive timeline.

While little is known, THR's report notes that the film is
intended to be a standalone project, and will not be connected
to the "Skywalker Saga," the nine films that comprise most of
the theatrical Star Wars projects. This means Gosling likely
won't interact with any of the Skywalkers, leaving most of the
movie in a mysterious grey area as of now.

The Hollywood Reporter also noted that, should Gosling sign
onto the project in an official capacity, it'll likely be the
next Star Wars movie Disney sets its focus on, with production
possibly happening as early as this fall.

As of now, the only other Star Wars movie officially set to
release sometime soon is the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu,
which is slated to premiere on May 22, 2026.

Gosling has always been a star, but he became even more of an
in-demand name following his critically acclaimed performance in
2023's Barbie. Since then, Gosling has starred in the 2024 action
film The Fall Guy, and has been rumored to be appearing in a
    variety of other, unconfirmed projects.

Shawn Levy's latest project was the massively successful Deadpool
& Wolverine, which was the second-highest-grossing film of 2024
    after earning $1.3 billion.

I'm a lifelong (nearly) fan of star wars. Well, I was until
Disney. Now, I'm just into the legacy stuff. The new stuff can
    rot for all I care.

Not much of the modern Star Wars stuff matches the original
trilogy... I did like some of the recent TV shows, "The
Mandalorian", "Andor" and "Ahsoka" (etc.) but the new films on
the whole have been a bit of a let-down. Good in parts, stupid
    in others.

I wouldn't be too worried about the casting of Ryan Gosling per
se, it's whether we get a film with a decent script devoid of
all the trendy nonsense that we've seen of late in the likes of
"The Acolyte" or not. They need to stick to the basics and Make
    Star Wars Great Again!
