• The State of MSM summed up

From ScottW@21:1/5 to All on Mon Dec 5 08:44:15 2022
In response to a gallup poll https://news.gallup.com/poll/1597/confidence-institutions.aspx
which puts trust in newspapers at 16% and TVNews at 11%

    https://redstate.com/streiff/2022/12/05/trust-in-the-media-craters-and-massive-layoffs-loom-and-the-media-blames-everything-but-itself-n668780

    The closing summary is below.

Mainstream media has now reached the point that aviators refer to as being “out of altitude, out of airspeed, and out of ideas.” When you reach the point where only about one-in-ten Americans trust you, you have a problem. You can’t change your way
of coverage to create a larger audience because your core customers will revolt and leave long before you see market growth. Your only option is to double down on extremism to keep the audience you do have.

There is good news here. CNN is within a year or so of folding. Even Jeff Bezos won’t tolerate the sinkhole-for-cash that is the Washington Post. If the New York Times newsroom walks out on strike, the number of workers returning will be a fraction of
today’s workforce. Slowly but surely, market forces are crushing the gatekeepers. I don’t know what will emerge from the smoking wreckage, but it can’t possibly be as vile and corrupt as what exists today.

    That is bad:

    https://www.mediamatters.org/fox-news/fox-has-given-trumps-call-termination-constitution-one-minute-coverage

"Fox News is all but ignoring former President Donald Trump’s call for
the “termination” of constitutional law and his restoration to the White House in order to keep its viewers focused on 26-month-old Twitter
    moderation decisions.

... Trump’s nakedly authoritarian statement drew criticism from
Democrats and even some Republicans. But Fox has spent just over one
minute on the story as of posting on Monday, according to a Media
    Matters review."

Exactly, so he won't count in that minute or so. Notice how so much of
the so-called "liberal media" soft-pedaled coverage by saying "suspend"
    instead of "terminate"?

Rent free? You've cued up the wayback machine for a sick burn which,
like the Twitter Files, is just a flop.

I'm sure there are plenty of Republicans who would be happy to be rid of
that albatross, especially given his recent endorsement successes.

Sad to say, a lot of Rs admit they would vote for Trump rather than ANY Democrat.

It's been said the reason they hate Bill Clinton so much is because they failed to
convict him of adultery. I.e. not because his progressive Democratic policies led to
economic prosperity and civil discourse inside the Beltway.
