• A fundamental problem of Shmoodom

They don't distinguish between right vs wrong and agree vs disagree.
To the Shmoos, disagreeing with any of their precepts means you are "wrong". Doesn't matter how far out the precept might be from reality.

We had a stark example the other day from the Unter Shmoo. Funny Name
asserted that Greiner choosing not to stand for the anthem means she
"hates America". Seemingly, Funny could not conceive of any expression
of patriotism other than blind obeisance to mindless tradition.

    You are an idiot
Not standing for the anthem is a purposeful sign of disrespect, motivated by disgust and derision of America.
The national anthem is not mindless tradition.
those who sing the words understand them, and affirmatively support the concept.

If a moron bangs his head on a brick wall and nobody listens, is there any sound?

Question for you, Funny: Are you pretending to miss the point, or did you actually miss it?

Substitute the more correct "remain in locker room" for "not standing"
and "purposeful sign of disrespect" is off the table.

Also, the protest wasn't "motivated by disgust and derision."

Griner: "I honestly feel we should not play the National Anthem during
our season. I think we should take that much of a stand.

I don't mean that in any disrespect to our country. My dad was in
Vietnam and a law officer for 30 years. I wanted to be a cop before
basketball. I do have pride for my country."

Her claim of pride is empty and false virtue signaling.
    She has derision.
    BUT
Staying in the locker room, out of sight, is fine by me.
