One question to ponder: What's your takeaway from the
train crash disaster in Ohio?
A. Norfolk-Southern should have been charging their
customers more so that they could modernize their
safety systems.
B. The free market is just fine as it is. The freight company
took a calculated risk in not overbuilding their system, and
now they are well-placed to undertake cleanup and to
remediate the inconvenience.
C. There is no evidence that Trump, Chao, et al could have
anticipated this freak accident. They were fully justified in
granting every demand from Norfolk to dispense with red
tape in order to keep the trains running and employees employed.
