• Shmoos mired in self-pity

From Fascist Flea@21:1/5 to All on Wed Mar 22 07:00:33 2023
Now our pair of dolts are complaining about one of the many
temporary hosts on the venerable Daily Show. Al Franken, not
many people's idea of a pioneering or edgy comedian, has
attracted the Shmoos' fear-mongering and grievance-airing.

I would like to point out that since the show switched over to
temporary hosting gigs, most of the hosts (all comedians) have
been overtly political. And since they're all progressives and
liberals (like the show's audiences), they've all been making fun
    of republigoons.

Franken's performance is muted and low-key compared with
Chelsea Handler's and Kal Penn's. Not only that, but Franken's
first guest was Lindsey Graham, a hard-right republigoon and
    Trumpy acolyte.

So why do Shmoos react strongly to Franken and not at all
to the more vocal reality-based hosts?

They've heard of him. And they can repeat their old material, ie "Stuart Smalley" references.
