• Poison pill for all the Shmoos in Shmootown

One of our two peabrained ankle-biters (I forget which one)
has been vowing vengeance for the hurtful prosecution
of Horrible Trump. The other one has limited himself to
repeating the paranoid ravings of the wacko echo chamber
to the effect that Bragg's case is "political".

Here's the pill: A prosecutor who succeeds in convicting
a politician of a crime gains a ton of respect. Remember when
Starr went after Clinton? The entire case was based on a
dalliance with an aide, but Starr was lionized in the dark
corners of prudishness where the republigoons huddle and
    scheme.

Elliot Spitzer went from AG to Governor by taking down crooked
Wall Street fatcats. Thomas Dewey made the same leap. Those
prosecutions were not political in the partisan sense any more
than Bragg's is. You Shmoos choose to ignore the obvious fact
that many politicians start as prosecutors before capitalizing on
their successes to seek office. That is almost certainly Bragg's
motivation. The fact that he's a Democrat only means that
he can't be bought off or threatened away by republigoon
    thugs.
