The MAGA nuts dominate the republigoon party as a whole,
so they'll probably vote to have the Trump-monster run for
Prezzidunce again. But the throughout the rest of the GOP,
the not-insane voters want a candidate who could conceivably
win the election. That is not Trump. With the coming indictments,
and probably felony convictions, some of the less-loony
Trump-beciles will likely sit out, if not actually vote for the
Democrat.

Very few republigoon voters actually care about what Shmoo
scottw euphemistically calls "policy". The great majority of them
adhere to the implicit (and sometimes explicit) racism espoused
by Trump and his followers. Their motivations are the opposite
of anything remotely intellectual like "policy". Trump motivates them
to let their racism and xenophobia run wild, and that's why they
cheer him on.
