• The Real Story from a detransitioned person

From ScottW@21:1/5 to All on Sun Jun 4 09:01:10 2023
"So one of the biggest pieces of data that they're missing right now is that 80% of the kids who are going through gender dysphoria or gender confusion either before puberty and during puberty, 80% of those kids are corrected – [They] will get rid of
all that gender confusion by the time puberty is over. 80%!"
(I've read other child psychologists put the number at 90%)

Beck added that puberty blockers are another irreversible step and can impact minors’ fertility in the future.

"If a kid goes on puberty blockers when they’re 13, 14, 15 years old, they're chemically castrated. They're not going to have children when they get older. They're not given this data," he told host Joey Jones. "So eight of those kids, out of those ten,
are going to want to go back to be just a regular old person and they're not going to be able to."

Beck came out as transgender in a 2013 interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper but expressed regret years later, telling conservative influencer Robby Starbuck in a December 2022 interview, "Everything you see on CNN with my face, do not even believe a
word of it." "Everything that happened to me for the last 10 years destroyed my life. I destroyed my life. I'm not a victim. I did this to myself, but I had help."

“Are you a boy or a girl?” about 90% of the children reported an answer that aligned with their sex assigned at birth.

So the real answer is 90% of the kids they claim needed gender affirming care weren't trans at all.

Given that the rest of them probably only heard gender transitioning advocacy, what do you really expect after 5 years?
They've only begun to see the horror of the path they're wasting their lives on.

Transgender identity predates all that and persisted despite much worse societal attitudes than your "horror of the path" of recent years.

Again you favor your gut over a scientific study. From the cite:

    RESULTS
We found that an average of 5 years after their initial social
transition, 7.3% of youth had retransitioned at least once. At the end
of this period, most youth identified as binary transgender youth (94%), including 1.3% who retransitioned to another identity before returning
to their binary transgender identity. A total of 2.5% of youth
identified as cisgender and 3.5% as nonbinary. Later cisgender
identities were more common among youth whose initial social transition occurred before age 6 years; their retransitions often occurred before
    age 10 years.

    CONCLUSIONS
These results suggest that retransitions are infrequent. More commonly, transgender youth who socially transitioned at early ages continued to
identify that way. Nonetheless, understanding retransitions is crucial
for clinicians and families to help make retransitions as smooth as
    possible for youth.

So that 90% better describes successful transitions.
