This take on internal Russian affairs.
"US authorities knew about preparations for the mutiny in advance, but Putin did not. Clearly, parts of the Russian intelligence services colluded with Prigozhin, as did sections of the military and the internal security forces.
Putin has been shown to have lost his previous ability to be the arbiter between powerful rival groups. This has undermined his public image in Russia as the all-powerful Tsar and called into question his value as a protector of elites’ status and
wealth."
and this milestone from the front in Ukraine

"This is one of the first instances since Russia’s February 2022 invasion that Ukrainian forces have highly likely recaptured an area of territory occupied by Russia since 2014."
Other reports speculate Russia has no reserves left to commit to the front in Ukraine and with limited ability to quickly relocate troops it's just a matter of time before Ukraine achieves a breakout of sorts. The probe in force across the Dnipro river
could already be considered the early stage of such an advance though it will be logistically difficult for Ukraine to fully exploit it.
More likely is Russia is forced to respond to the threat and contain the beachhead which weakens other sectors and creates more vulnerabilities to exploit.
