The FBI while supposedly investigating the case of Hunter lying about
drug use on his permit application never actually examined the gun or

After the "plea deal" collapsed the FBI went to Delaware State Police

Anyone care to offer a reason?

The FBI was already aware of Hunter's drug problems, certainly as far
back as the publication of his memoir.

Hunter, in the throes of drug addiction, may not have had the mental
capacity to be responsible for lying on his gun form (he bought the gun
    while suffering paranoia).

Re-examining evidence after prosecutorial reneging on the plea deal
supports a case for vindictive prosecution.

Doesn't make the evidence of cocaine on his gun bag less relevant in this case.

That's true: still not relevant. It will aid a vindictive prosecution
    defense, though.

So we have a paranoid lunatic living in the WH. Great!

He got better. No signs of improvement in that other former inhabitant unfortunately.
