    Ahh, great answer. I've been trying for some time to find out what it
    was. Heard it at the dentist office a while back but forgot to ask
    while I was there. Trying to find a sample online is impossible so far,
    plenty of drill sounds but not that.....

    More of a filing sound than a drilling. As in, post filling/

    If you are on good terms with your dentist why not ask if you can come in before she/he has patients to grab a sample?
