"150 launchers exploded upon activation": Iranian analyst reveals
defense system collapse…
In an unusual interview published this week on the Iranian media channel
"Iran International," analyst Saeed Leylaaz revealed details that are
alarming to the Iranians about the security failures in last month's war
with Israel. According to his testimony, Israel managed to cause the
explosion of 120 to 150 Iranian missile launchers the moment they were activated, while simultaneously breaching the entire air defense system
of the Revolutionary Guards .“We saw that 120 to 150 rocket launchers exploded as soon as they were activated, and Iran’s entire air defense
system was breached,” Leylaaz said in an interview with Eqtesad Online.
The detailed account is a rare exposure of military and intelligence
failures in Iran’s tightly controlled media.
Experts: The real damage is greater
Michael Fregent, an independent analyst and former US intelligence
officer, responded to the revelation, saying that the figures that are
publicly disclosed are often underestimated. "When someone says it's
between 120 and 150, that's huge - but the real number could be
significantly higher," he explained to Iran International.
Fargant expressed doubt about Iran's ability to restore its defense
systems, claiming that they are based on Russian technology that Israel
already knows. "The systems they use are Russian. Israel already knows
how to hack them and carry out cyberattacks to infiltrate, manipulate
data and disable defense assets," he said.
Harsh criticism of the security system:
Leylaaz did not stop at exposing the technical failures, but expressed
complete distrust of the Iranian security system. "I no longer trust any military or security personnel - whether from the Revolutionary Guards,
the Ministry of Intelligence or the army - unless proven otherwise", he declared. The analyst went so far as to make a dramatic statement about
the state of the country: "From a security perspective, one could easily
say that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been brought to its knees".
Senior Commanders Killed:
During the 12-day war, Israel carried out targeted attacks that killed
several senior commanders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps,
including Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Mohammad
Baqeri, Commander of the Revolutionary Guard Corps Hossein Salami,
Commander of the Aerospace Force Amir Ali Hajizadeh, and Deputy
Commander of the Revolutionary Guard Corps Mehdi Rabbani.
According to an Iranian government spokesman, 1,062 Iranians were killed
during the fighting, including 786 military personnel and 276 civilians.
Calling for internal reconciliation:
Leylaaz also criticized Iran's foreign policy, calling on the government
to first negotiate with its people. "During the 12-day war, despite
being disappointed with the ruling system, the Iranian people stood up
quietly to defend the country's territorial integrity. This means that
there is still room for reconciliation between the Iranian people and
the Islamic Republic," he said.
