Glad to be back in the saddle, just had to take note of some of the recent flights on OLC, and one caught my attention. It was the flight of Terrible Tommy out in Ely. How do you get 10-12K AGL and only score a pathetic 400 plus points with a triangle
that should be condemned. Here I am recovering from a little setback and I could have pulled the catheter out and scored 400 plus points in my Lowly 27B and only had 3K AGL.
Thanks to many for the kind inquiries on OBTP, all is good, looking forward to keeping you MG guys on your toes for the immediate future. Your good friend, OBTP

LOL! Leave it to Boobi to criticize others when not knowing ANYTHING about the conditions. When you have thunderstorms threatening the prudent pilot gets on the ground; Boobi, however, can't spell P R U D E N T. It was also a late starting day. Boobi, on
the other hand, has only posted 10 flights with an average distance of 277 km. The longest one isn't even 400 km.

Tommy, you need to check more closely. I have made many flights of over 400K some of then while navigating around Lake O and R2901, the difference is that I do my flights at altitudes never exceeding 4500AGL, in a pure glider over swamp infested terrain
and we have thunderstorms that make yours look like drizzles. Yet the facts speak for themselves, 12K AGL and you could only muster 400 K, that is like kissing your sister, you could do better or you could do worse. There must be something wrong with
your steerable tailwheel, creating drag that makes you look like a drag queen. OBTP

Not this year, Boobi. At least what you have posted. Sorry dude, but I don't fly with the threat of thunderstorms - or land if it is apparent they are forming. This is perhaps why you landed in the swamp recently. The bottom line is that you are just a
cantankerous bastard going thru a second childhood and looking for a fight.

TT, no, I am not a CFIG, never aspired to be one and the closest I have been to getting killed was from a CFIG, while I was towing, sound familiar? I am glad that you brought the subject up of CFIG's, I am sure my opinion on the subject will not surprise
you and probably tick off a few CFIG's.
Some of the worst glider pilots that I have seen are CFIG's, and let me elaborate on the reason why. I have seen more than one what I call 15 hour wonders, yes 15 hours and take a test and a check ride and off you go to the wonderful world of teaching,
you can classify yourself as a professional. The individual probably has never flown anything with higher performance, never done any cross country soaring, yet only met the minimum standards for compliance with the rating. I am not berating any
individual for wanting to become a CFIG, but rather questioning the minimum requirements. It to me is no different with tow pilots, I have checked out many tow pilots, but prior to even considering an individual as a tow pilot I want to know their
experience level, I would not feel comfortable checking out a tow pilot with only 15 hours of power time.
Our club has some of the best instructors around, both old and young, recently a new member joined the club and has a CFIG rating, this individual is superb and has the experience one would want from a teacher. OBTP
