Eternal September filtering is really good. Not only does it filter out
the Spam, but OBTP as well.

Thanks for posting that, Tim.  I got quite a chuckle out of "deGrinch"
    and motorglider guys tolling...

Oh, and I witnessed that glider overshoot/crash landing at Moriarty.
    Pretty lame piloting, I'd say.

Well, shucky darn, Tom.  You're right.

And Happy New Year to the rest of the aviation community, and the world,
    for that matter.

I flew my Cessna 180K today, did an instrument approach, two stop and
goes, and a full stop.  I flew the gyro a couple of days ago. Tomorrow
is the last day in annual for the Stemme but there's been no wave yet
this season.  I'll get the inspection done in the next week or so.
Depends upon when the IA is available.

I mean, we don't all have to leave RAS newsgroup, I suspect once Google
disconnects from usenet the spam will go away. Either way, eternal
September is working well and RAS will remain for those of us who prefer
    the old NNTP system.

I just don't understand all the talk about a deluge of spam on eternal-september.  I've seen precisely two spam messages in the past
month or so.  I'm using Ubuntu Linux as my operating system, Thunderbird
as my email client, and eternal-september as my news reader.  Could it
be something good about that combination or have the spammers just
    ghosted me?

Anyway, I have no use for moderators or censorship of any kind and won't
be going to the google group.  If this news group withers and dies, so
be it.  I've got other forms of entertainment.

Bob, it is you that doesn't get it. It isn't about the Santa post. It is the sum total of all of your ongoing anti-motorglider rants. They are insulting, childish and irrelevant, but you cannot seem to let it go. The fact is that many RAS readers,
after disagreeing with the theme and asking you to cease your repetitive dialogue, enough people complained when you indicated that you intended to continue on RAS_Prime. For that reason, the moderator, Mr. DeRosa, called and asked you to please not
start the same thing on the RAS_Prime group. Instead, you decided to not post on the forum. You were given the option to limit your posts to relevant topics, but you chose to go your own way and cease participation on RAS_Prime. Fine. Have a nice life.
