have you found one yet? i might have a new one depending on specific axle size and part number, used prices.

Yes, thank you - found a nice one and all is good; "new" wheel installed on my friends LS6. Now if we can just get the gear door fixed and finish the conditional...

Thank you RAS for helping get a glider back ready for this season!

    Hi Kirk,

What's wrong with the gear door? I once fixed a gear door from my LS-6
that was damaged in a land out. I covered a batch of wet plaster of
Paris with a single sheet of plastic film and laid the good door in it
    to make a mold.

Since the doors from the LS-6 are symmetrical (at least on my 1985
a-model) it was a simple matter to lay wet glass in the mold and then
lay the damaged door (properly prepped for a glass repair) on top of the
wet glass in the mold. After it set up, it was simple to sand to shape
    and paint.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Dan,

One of the doors has some minor leading edge damage but our IA is taking care of it - it's in the line of things to do prior to the start of the soaring season here in Illinois. If the rain ever stops long enough.

But thank you for asking ;^)

    Cheers,

    Kirk
