    Hello,

I have the problem that my LX8000 does not start up at all. Before I contact the factory for repair is there someone with tips how to fix it?

The situation. It had been working, but I left it for a while and when I came back the avionics batteries were dead (voltage too low). After recharging the batteries the LX8000 did not turn on anymore. This means that the display does not even light up
when I press the power on buttton. Other instruments were OK. Also tried a fresh new battery and this did not give the proper results either.

I checked the fuse for the LX8000 and to be sure I replaced it with a new one but that did not solve the problem. Measurement on the fuse circuit showed a healthy 14V so the LX is getting power.

I also checked if all was connected and all seems to be screwed and locked into place as it should be.

Config I have is LX8000 with V5 vario. Separate FLARM display connected via LX1090 for ADSB Signal. Also connected to the LX8000 is the AHRS unit via a USB port.

    So any tips are welcome

I have exactly the same problem, did You fix it? My lx 8000 was working perfect, then it was sleeping for winter season and when I came back It stop working, any help will be welcome, thanks

Is it possible that there is an internal battery that needs to be
    recharged or replaced?

I also had an S100 vario that did not power up. Bottom line: you have to return it to the factory. This is a PITA, so here is what I did:

    1. Go online with LX Nav and fill out the RMA.

    2. Sent the unit to Paul Remede (email him the RMA) , who will do the export paper work to LX Nav (don't even have him open the box, or he will charge you for reboxing it). Don't have Paul try to troubleshoot the unit.

    3. He sends it LX Nav and bills you the shipping plus some minor fees (around $200).

    4. LX Nav fixes it and returns it to Paul (no, they can't send it to you directly) and bills Paul (assuming it is out of warranty).

    5. Paul sends the unit back to you and bills you for the repair (his cost) plus shipping.

The advantage is that Paul gets regular shipments from LX Nav, so the international return shipping costs you nothing, or very little. Expect this whole process to take a couple of months.

    Good luck!

    Tom
