    How "not hard" is this to do? Does the lens simply come off of the front, or did you have to remove the entire instrument from the panel to get access to the needle?

    It had to come out of the panel. I don't recall exactly what had to come apart on the unit, but I believe it was more screws--likely four. There is a strip of shiny tape, which indicates that the unit is sealed. Once you open it up, the lens will fall
    out. I used one tiny drop of Starbond thin CA glue. That's just a high quality brand of CA glue I had on hand. Position the needle, wick the glue in. Strangely, the glue seemed to cure instantly. Put it back together, and it should be fine. My
    needle was still attached when I upgraded it to the Clearnav Vario, which I found to be a much much better vario.
