Just a note to anyone interested, on Thursday February 23 at the SSA Convention in Reno, the Aux-powered Sailplane Association will be running Maintenance Forum presentations for common auxiliary powered sailplane types. These will consist ofpresentations by folk with deep experience in the various types, and will include Q&A sessions. There will even be a few boxes of broken parts to pour over, a great way to learn.
Please check the schedule when you get there, but right now they'll kick off at 9 AM with Terry Edmonds talking about DG-800/Solo powered. 10 AM Schleicher USA Agent Rex Mayes will talk about Schleichers, followed at 11 AM by Tom Seim, also onSchleichers but from a user's point of view. After lunch, at 1:30 AM Bob Faris will talk about his recent 3000 hr major inspection on his DG-800, and then at 2:30 Garrett Willat will talk about Schempp Hirth.
Cheers,Mr. Bum, from what I see at our club and other Motorglider owners maybe they should extend the time allowed to cover all the maintenance and failures, just a suggestion. Your friend, Old Bob, The Purist

Sorry, Ricky-Bobbie, no Solo engine in my glider. Instead, a vibration-free reliable Wankel wit full FADEC controls (of course fuel-injected, electronic injection).
