• FLARM QUESTION

From miltonpilot JLH@21:1/5 to All on Thu Mar 2 14:05:59 2023
I have a PowerFlarm Portable and an Oudie N IGC. My question: is there a way to have my PowerFlarm Portable connect to my Oudie N (by bluetooth) so that traffic shows on the Oudie N? I asked this question to several people at the SSA Convention and got
    conflicting answers. JLH/H4

Naviter offers a PowerFlarm RJ-45 dongle that will Bluetooth to the Oudie N. It's been a while since I had a PowerFlarm Portable; so you'll have to check your unit to confirm if it has an RJ-45 socket.

You can always email the Naviter people. They are quite responsive.

    Hi,

The PowerFLARM Portable receives and forwards FLARM and ADS-B 1090 traffic. if you have the optional ADS-R enable set in your Portable, and have ADS-B 1090 OUT in your glider, and you are near a radar ground station, you will also get relayed ADS-B UAT
and relayed Mode C traffic. https://www.cumulus-soaring.com/store/flarm-powerflarm-enable-ads-r

I recommend the Naviter Bluetooth Dongle for FLARM along with an LXNAV FLARM RJ45 Splitter.
