Thanks to the generosity of Mr. Peter Teuber, Sandhill Soaring Club a tax-exempt Michigan non-profit gliding club is making its newly donated Discus-2ct available to qualified, rated glider pilots ages 16-25 (Juniors) to advance their soaring skills,
pursue FAI badges, attend soaring camps, and compete in SSA sanctioned Regional and National Soaring Contests.
Sandhill has established a network of Remote Check Pilots and advisors that presently include Shawn Knickerbocker, JP Stewart, Daniel Sazhin, David McMaster, John Harte, and Tony Condon.
The cost for Juniors to participate in the program is very reasonable. In fact, glider rental fees for this aircraft have been be waived for all Junior pilots ages 16-25 in exchange for their help (caretaking of the glider) and commitment to the program.
If your Club has a qualified, rated glider pilot ages 16-25 who demonstrates maturity and has a real desire to advance their soaring skills, please have them e-mail me directly.
