    Sailplane Racers,

    Please consider joining us this year at R4S in New Castle, VA. This no doubt is one of the most beautiful, relaxing contest sites you could ever fly. While its a technical soaring site, the views are breathtaking, and first-timers are paired with mentors
    and encouraged to fly within their skills. The food and entertainment is great.. the music comradery, and weeklong bonfire is even better! Come join us and experience the magic of New Castle.

    I'm not sure what the preferential entry deadline is but the contest never fills up... its a quaint little contest with I'd say roughly 25-28 pilots most years. The competition amongst the the group at the top of the score sheet is fierce (and
    experienced), but otherwise, most everyone else goes for the comradery, the peacefulness brought about by the beautiful mountain scenery, and of course the great southern hospitality offered by the friendly folks at Blue Ridge Soaring Society. This is a
    unique contest and an end-of-year gathering for many. If you've never been, please consider yourself invited and bring a glider to New Castle. They have a wonderful campground for those who wish to camp out or bring an RV (with a public bathroom and
    showers). Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is available the entire week practically so you never have to leave the field.
