I once had a substantial collection of newspaper clippings
about bank robbers who fled on bicycles. About half got
away as (many here will agree) a cyclist in traffic is
    nearly invisible.

Depends on the bicycle. The original "classic" Christiana Cargo Bikes
    aren't nearly invisible at all. <https://duckduckgo.com/?q=cristiana+bikes&t=ffab&ia=web> <https://www.christianiabikes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/ChristianiaBikes_StandardFrame.0001-edited-2-2988x1588.png>

These cargo bicycles aren't motorized, either. There now are motorized
versions of these bicycles, too, even from Christiana.

We should stop to follow the trend of calling mopeds bicycles, just
because people don't remember the VéloSoleX, anymore.

From my own experience, I know that a VeloSolex simply can't keep up
with the current range of motorized bikes in terms of performance. A
current run-of-the-mill E-bike has more range and more climbing ability
than an VeloSolex. Calling these mopeds "bicycles" is a bad joke.

    <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V%C3%A9loSoleX>

"VéloSoleX is a moped, or motorised bicycle, usually just referred to as 'Solex', which was originally produced by the French manufacturer Solex,
based in Courbevoie near Paris, France"

Here's a new wrinkle on 'not being seen'.

"Borgwardt has told authorities he overturned his kayak on
the lake, dumped his phone in it and paddled an inflatable
boat to shore. He told authorities he chose Green Lake
because it is Wisconsin’s deepest at 237 feet (over 72
meters). He then rode an electric bike stashed by a boat
launch about 70 miles (110 kilometers) through the night to
Madison, the sheriff said. From there, by Borgwardt’s
account, he traveled by bus to Detroit and then Canada,
    where he boarded a plane."
