Very pretty which is really the point, can still get just about premium
26inch tyres, and with some choice, as long as it’s a tyre that has been around a while like the Magic Mary which has been around a decade or so,
    been updated every few years.

    <https://www.schwalbe.com/en/Magic-Mary-11654545>

So can get cheaper versions for trashing aka the Bikepark versions and ones
for Trail riding and up to Downhill variants ie heavier and better
    protection.

Though not with brand new models but can get tyres that such as the Magic
Mary that excel in the slop and are grip monsters! Or conversely stuff like
the Racing Ralph which are for the XC whippets and stuff in between.

So while 26inch bikes are hard to find sold, though are used by trikes and
so on, is still some some choice out there, my 26inch MTB is my main
commute bike so I have tyres appropriate for that use, mainly Big Apples
which are generally fairly robust though have slashed two rears over last 5 years, one a glass strike to the side wall the other a nail again to the sidewall.

While arguably obsolete still perfectly useable and so on

We are not necessarily representative but we have 3x as many
559 (26 decimal) tire models than 584 (650B) tire models in
    stock.

I said 26 inch bikes rather than tyres or at least new models.

For example neither Maxxis Assegai which has been around for quite a while
now, decade maybe? But no 26inch versions, which seems to be the same
across all manufacturers ie they have kept the 26inch versions of older
models of tyres though often with a reduced choice, Magic Mary for example
for 26inch you have no or limited choices with each discipline ie Trail, gravity, bike park have one tyre, 26 * 2.35 no choice of compounds or sidewall colours, Downhill still gets no choice regarding compound but has
two width options. So 5 tyres in total.

I recently bought a Magic Mary for my Trance which is a 29er, of which
there are 15 tyres which cover three width options, five carcass options
    and three compound options.

Essentially it’s a slowly reducing field, particularly if your going to be using the MTB as intended, where your options will be less so would need to
be happy with the choice or rather lack of any choice really from each manufacturer.

At the leisure or utility end which is what I use my old 26incher for it doesn’t matter, but it would for the trail bike I own, like most MTBers I care about tyres which have huge impact much more so than any other type of bike.

    You started your reply with:

"Very pretty which is really the point, can still get just about
premium 26inch tyres, and with some choice, as long as itÂ’s a tyre
that has been around a while..."

I assumed you meant that you were having difficulties finding 26 inch
tires and not 26 inch bicycles.

26 bikes are really uncommon bar for the supermarket/Amazon stuff, tyres
the premium end has dropped out of the market, ie can get tyres for city
riding or park stuff or riding fire roads and the like.

For folks using the MTB in its element noting that 26inch MTB where sold
until 10 ish years ago? The choice is much more limited if any choice at
    all.

If you have a 90’s MTB it’s fine can get some smoke and dart jobs done, got an older Trance or similar your likely to have to make compromises which is definitely sub par.

Smoke and dart are by design old and bar looks aren’t a good choice if your going to actually go MTBing I remember them and similar and how they really don’t like wet off camber rooty stuff! Bike tyres have moved on by some margin since their time.

Kenda really aren’t a big player at all in the MTB world, even Continental
is bigger, and certainly the probability of seeing a Kenda MTB tyre in the woods being used is rather low, need to look at Maxxis/Schwable/Specialised/Bontrager/WTB and so on.

Look at the MTB tyres range, my MTB is a 29er so I have a choice of width
and compound and carcass for a 26inch MTB there is a tyre but limited to no choices, for example the Big Betty 21 models, for 26inch there is two a
bike park ie cheap fairly hard rubber and tubes or a trail tyre, no width choices.

For my Trance, I have lots of choices I could buy a performance (cheap
budget option) or choice of widths and durability of the tyre and how much
grip vs rolling to tailor the tyres for my preferred performance characteristics.

Hence my old commute bike is fine being 26inch though even in that space
new tyres tend not to come out in 26inch, but on the whole it’s a non
    issue.

The MTB though and for MTBer tyres matter hugely having a limited choice
and in some cases i suspect older designs I’d and other would absolutely
care about, and very much is an issue.

Hence the two folks who you know do MTB are unsurprisingly in agreement
it’s almost as if we know what we’re talking about ;-)

That depends on your intended use, MTB generally favours more expensive
tyres, to remain competitive or at least that the bike is still relevant
will need access to decent kit, my Trance is now 11 years old though it’s
had replaced parts along the way such as suspension shock last year.

And yes tyres being able to tune the tyres for how you like the bike to
handle is very much an important part of MTB set up.

With 26inch my tyre choices are Limited, and new tyres with few exceptions don’t come in 26inch.

That I can buy some tyres is not enough I want to have the choice like I do with 27.5/29 of different brands/compounds/intended use and so on.

In the same way that folks who want to com pet in hill climbs etc, struggle
to find top end wheel sets for rim brakes, can they get a wheel set still absolutely but not the upper end and certainly not the choice nor the newer models coming out.

Hence even the UK hill climbs championship is seeing disks. It is a rather niche sport to put it mildly!

'Kendra' is a modern girls' name, now that almost no one is
named Sally or Mary Margaret or Vittoria.

Kenda is a Romanization of 'Golden Boy' in Taiwan chinese.
The firm was actually Golden Boy when I first started

Ok. I'll try the first URL. I'm using Windoze 10, Firefox 135.0 with
no ad blocker extensions beyond what Firefox provides. I normally use
the ClearURLs extension to remove tracking data from posted URL's. <https://docs.clearurls.xyz>
I test the Kendra Tire sites with the extension turn on and off. Both
    settings worked as expected.

I click on "Buy Online" button which opens: <https://shop.kendatire.com/products/regolith-pro-sct>
There's pull down list showing a substantial list of sizes. A few are
grayed out, indicating that they're not available, but most are dark
black, indicating that they's available for ordering.

When I click on "Add to Cart" button, which opens the "Cart" and shows
the item for $74.95. Clicking the "-" sign emptied the cart.

Under "Tracking Content" (under the shield on the URL bar) Firefox
shows about 15(?) tracking sites that are allowed to spy on the order.
None are marked as being blocked, which might prevent displaying the
web page. Looks like the web site sends everything to Facebook.

The domain validation certificate from Google Trust Services is active
and expires on Mar 9, 2025. I also checked Edge 132.0.2957.140 and
Chrome 133.0.6943.54 which both work. I have yet to see an "internal
server error" message. I would say that everything is working as
expected. I could try actually ordering something, but I don't think
that's needed since the "internal server error" message seems to
appear before a purchase can be made.

Want to run some tests and work through this (via email please)?

and expires on Mar 9, 2025.

    Interesting,
    Today it's working.
Maybe I just happened to catch it during an update or something.

No, the links as posted above work fine. It's when you click the
selection for online purchases that you get the internal server error.

Ok. I'll try the first URL. I'm using Windoze 10, Firefox 135.0 with
no ad blocker extensions beyond what Firefox provides. I normally use
the ClearURLs extension to remove tracking data from posted URL's.
    <https://docs.clearurls.xyz>
I test the Kendra Tire sites with the extension turn on and off. Both
    settings worked as expected.

I click on "Buy Online" button which opens:
    <https://shop.kendatire.com/products/regolith-pro-sct>

Must be a quantum server. It only produces expected results when
    you're not looking at it.

Maybe I just happened to catch it during an update or something.

That's possible. Welcome to the cloud. Most ecommerce web sites are distributed among a large number of virtual servers also known as the
cloud. You have no control as to which server you're using, even by
IP address. Kendra Tires doesn't need to own the entire server. They
rent some amount of bandwidth, storage space, applications, and backup services. If the web site could easily be distributed among different
servers in multiple countries. If a virtual server goes down, the
load balancer switches to another virtual server and things continue
without (much) interruption. Generally, maintenance is done when the
virtual or physical server is taken offline. The first step in taking
it offline is to block new users from accessing the server and display
a "go away" message, such as "internal server error, try again later".
If something big goes down, then you may be able to see what was
affected on one of the "internet weather map" sites: <https://www.internetweathermap.com/map> <https://www.thousandeyes.com/outages/>
    <https://downdetector.com>
    <https://www.pingdom.com/outages/>
    <https://www.att.com/outages/>
    <https://status.cloud.google.com/maps-platform/>
    (etc)
I can't tell from here what type of failure occurred.

    Anyway, rejoyce. It's fixed.
