    You certainly could but there are most probably laws against
    that or at least regulations. Here, since no one cares*,
    sure. In a civilized country you'd probably be cited.

    I was remembering back to the Whizzer Motorbike kit.

    From memory that needed a driver's licence and license plates -
    probably dependent on the State.

    You might give yourself some more wiggle room by simply adding a small generator and battery charger to an otherwise-unmodified e-bike.

    That would at least preserve the characteristics of the (legal) e-bike.

    Uk certainly be illegal as to if you’re likely to be stopped generally they don’t go looking for such stuff, but people advertise themselves ie ride
    like arse biscuits! At which point the bike will get checked and removed/disposed off plus fines etc.

    Most States then regulated motors 50cc and up then. Whizzer
    were under that at 49cc.
