My DeRosa Idol disc brake bike has stopping the same as a good rim brake bike. This is nothing at all like my earlier disc brake bikes which had very violent stopping. Did the complaints of the racing pros have a real effect and the braking systems
modified so that they were not lifting the rear wheel on sudden application of ghe brakes? That certainly appears to be the case. My disc brakes are worn in now2 and the don't squeal and they don't have excess power that would lock the brakes on bad
    traction.

One of the things that I really like is the 12 mm through axles which perfectly center the wheels. While this is a problem for pro racers, for the average rider there is no pulling out of alignment and the tire scrubbing against the inside of the
chainstays. All in all, I am really beginning to like disc brakes especially siunce they allow me to change to 32 mm tires and run 10 psi lower tire pressure on these crummy roads and bike paths around here. Caliper brakes simply wouldn't work with that
    width of tire,

I sold the Colnago yesterday to the man who was interested in the Ridley Helium Di2. The Ridley didn't fit his and the Colnago did. That was purely a matter of bar width and stem length but enough for him to go to the better name. The Colnago Dream HP
does not ride nearly as goood as a C50 but that isn't saying that it rides badly. I think that I will start riding the Ridley again and modifying the fit for the next interested individual.
