In January I put in 460 miles. And this included some difficult climbing. I am going to have to build up to that again but I did put in 402 mostly flat mileage this month. Lets see what I do nect December if it's reasonably dry. I seem to never be in the
mood to climb since my stroke. But I will get over that.

If you're looking for Tom's Strava link, this is what's left of them: <https://www.strava.com/athletes/27432450> <https://www.strava.com/athletes/114659696>
Neither account has any data or details in it.

    My account is at:
    <https://www.strava.com/athletes/103870441>
However, you will be disappointed. I haven't been riding a bicycle
since about 2018(?) due to back pain problems. I also didn't ride competitively. Mostly, it was short rides around the Santa Cruz area.

Everything I've recorded on Strava was either a walk or a hike in a
local park. No bicycle involved. My cardiologist demanded that I do
exercise walks at least 4 times per week. I couldn't do that, so I
only did one walk. I walk or hike with or 2 or 3 friends,
unfortunately at the rate of the slowest. I may need to make some
changes as I'm definitely not getting enough exercise by walking.
(Note: I'm 77.5 years old and am doing well enough for my age).

Tom began posting his rides on Strava in about mid 2022(?) at the
request of Lou Holtman, a competent engineer. I subscribed to the
free version of Strava to see how it works, learn how to use Strava,
and keep an eye out for Tom. Despite claiming to have 15(?) bicycles,
Tom never bothered to post which bicycle he was riding on Strava. If
Tom had switched bicycles, some of the amazing and questionable
numbers seem to have been the result of speed sensor calibration
    errors.

Tom's Strava postings continued for a few months. (I can research the
exact dates if someone wants to know). At some point, Lou Holtman
announced that he was leaving rec.bicycles.tech. At approximately the
same time, Tom deleted his data and wiped all the data from his Strava
account. I don't recall which event came first.

I'm not sure of that timeline. I seem to remember tom making the "20
year-olds bragging" claim well before 2022 - I could be wrong.

Besides that, I find it exceptionally difficult to believe that people
would brag on strava that they were faster than tom. If tom can point to
a post on strava by a 20something year-old where they called out tom -
even in a passing reference - I'll stand corrected.

I use Garmin and Strava but Strava is a much more used platform for all
types of things. Running, cycling, and the rest. I have used it for many
years and it my primary way I look at date. My good friend Zen and I
keep track of each other and I "stalk" Lou as he says.

The only real issue I have with Strave is that it record virtual ride
mileage the same as riding outside. I don't count riding indoors
directly as mileage even though it is a great work out. Miles count on
the bike when outside moving forward.

I am long past KOM type of things at my age but frankly I am a Local
Legend on many segments given I ride higher mileage than most. As far as bragging, well this is easy. Even a little as 3 years ago I could go out
and ride 16-18 MPH consistently on 40-50 mile rides. Going back say 7
years ago the MPH would be closer to 17-at times 18 mph.

Now I can attest that anything over 16 MPH is considered pretty quick
for sure. Many times now I am 14.5 to 16 mph tops. In the winter and
colder I tend to say under 16 most of the time. Once summer hits I can
get in the 16.5 to 17 mph but what I used to consider slow is now damn
    fast.

although I can still ramp the Catrike up to 20 MPH on level ground, it
doesn't last long. Most of my rides nowdays average between 11 and 14
MPH, depending on my state of mind and the weather. I never used to
have trouble with heat and humidity, but the last several rides in 90+
degrees took a lot out of me. Lots of rain this week. Possible ride

If you're looking for Tom's Strava link, this is what's left of them:
    <https://www.strava.com/athletes/27432450>
    <https://www.strava.com/athletes/114659696>
Neither account has any data or details in it.

    My account is at:
    <https://www.strava.com/athletes/103870441>
However, you will be disappointed.  I haven't been riding a bicycle
since about 2018(?) due to back pain problems.  I also didn't ride
competitively.

I have a free Strava account that my Garmin account passes my data to,
but I seldom look at it. I get more data with Garmin Connect and I can
download it and save it in my own database.

I use Garmin and Strava but Strava is a much more used platform for all
    types of things.

I also use Garmin and Strava (plus Komoot for social sharing). I track
most rides/ hikes both on the wrist watch and on the mobile phone.
Garmin always gets the raw data from the wrist watch while Strava takes
the GPS data (w/o heart rate) from the mobile phone when the wrist watch
did not record correctly (mostly due to user erros - e.g. forgot to
re-start tracking after lunch break, sometimes due to technical errors).

I use Garmin and Strava but Strava is a much more used platform for all
types of things. Running, cycling, and the rest. I have used it for many years and it my primary way I look at date.

Excellent point. Strava should be parsing out virtual vs real rides in
    the stats.

Once summer hits I can
get in the 16.5 to 17 mph but what I used to consider slow is now damn
    fast.

I assume you're talking about average speed. I used to use a VDO speedometer and it showed speed and climbing but not averages. But there's no way I could ever have averaged over 15 mph since all my rides had over 2500 feet of climbing. I did the Death
Ride several times which is 10,000 feet of climbing at high altitude.

I was surprised how rapidly my speed dropped.with age.

I'm not sure of that timeline. I seem to remember tom making the "20 year-olds bragging" claim well before 2022 - I could be wrong.

Besides that, I find it exceptionally difficult to believe that people
would brag on strava that they were faster than tom. If tom can point to
a post on strava by a 20something year-old where they called out tom -
even in a passing reference - I'll stand corrected.

It was well before my head injury so that would have put it sometimme in the early 2000's. I never minded fast riders disappearing up the road, I just didn't like my rides being specifically chosen for comparison by people 40 years younger than me. But
who knows, maybe it was a compliment. I was pretty sensitive about my riding after the poison gas incident.

Strava started 2009 ish so he can’t have been having comparisons from 20
    year olds in 2000!

He only closed it in the last few years so was clearly happy with it, or at least not concerned with it until recently.

Strava was founded in Sweden in 2009, dumbass. It wasn't released in the
    US until 2010.

I never minded fast riders disappearing up the road, I just didn't like my rides being specifically chosen for comparison by people 40 years younger than me.

Strava doesn't work like that, it never did. It will list every person
that rides a defined segment unless the user lists the ride as private.
    Nothing is "specifically chosen".

But who knows, maybe it was a compliment. I was pretty sensitive about my riding after the poison gas incident.

Not buying it. If you had been injured in a poison gas incident as a
civilian working for the military, you would have been hounded by
personal injury lawyers and ended up with a rather substantial
settlement - unless it was entirely your fault, even then there would
have been a settlement to some extent. Since we've never heard about any settlement, it's safe to assume you're making up more tall tales.

If someone does that, it seems weird to call it stalking.

I don't believe that having followers is the major reason for Strava,

Yes, it's main purpose is a social media site 'geared' for cyclists to
share ride data. Another major feature is for simple personal
statistics, and there is no requirement to make your profile public, or
    even visible to anyone.

If tommy had issues with people stalking or (allegedly) targeting his
ride to beat his segment times then brag about it, all he would have to
do is make his account private. It's one checkbox on the settings page.
And yes, Strava has _always_ had that feature - since day one of the
    release.

"I got a severe concussion in 2010 that led to a type of seizures that >>> I didn't remember afterwards. This wasn't discovered and treated
properly until 2012 after 4 car wrecks luckily without any injuries".

I find it interesting that the "severe concussion" occurred just
    before Tom's DUI arrest.

I never minded fast riders disappearing up the road, I just didn't like >>>> my rides being specifically chosen for comparison by people 40 years >>>> younger than me. But who knows, maybe it was a compliment. I was pretty >>>> sensitive about my riding after the poison gas incident.

In what month and year was this poison gas incident?
Do you have a link to this "comparison"?
Do you have the names of any of the perpetrator so I can find them on
    Strava?

Strava started 2009 ish so he can t have been having comparisons from 20 >> year olds in 2000!

Good point. (I'm kicking myself for having missed it). I was going
to assemble a chronology of events for Tom, but decided that it was
    just too much work.

I was as relatively early adopter 2011 ish? Hence it stood out, memory
isn?t generally my forte though old memory?s are largely though not wholly there.

He only closed it in the last few years so was clearly happy with it, or at
least not concerned with it until recently.

Tom started or re-started using Strava at the same time that I began.
My oldest ride that I recorded was on July 8, 2022. <https://www.strava.com/activities/7436072069>
It took me a while to stop making mistakes, so I guess that I started
in June 2022. Tom's first Strava entries would likely have been
    around the same time.

At the same time, Tom claimed that he had years of historical rides
saved on Strava, which had mysteriously disappeared (or something
similar). I can't find the posting, but at least I now know the
    probable date.

Incidentally, I was trying to learn how Strava works at the same time
that Tom was struggling with his multiple Strava problems. I
accidentally initiated a "follow" request to Tom. I immediately unfollowed, but Tom noticed the request. Within minutes, Tom was
posting on rec.bicycles.tech that I was "stalking" him.

I think this was the incident. Tom's comments:
    (July 7, 2022) <https://www.novabbs.com/tech/article-flat.php?id=59409&group=rec.bicycles.tech#59409>
"As far as I can remember, I didn't like everyone and their brother
trying to beat my times on Strava and withdrew from it. I talked about doing that many times. So exactly why was Liebermann stalking me with Strava unless there isn't any ends he won't go to?"

I?ve probably read it at the time and well forgotten about it, I do vaguely remember him clearly getting confused by Strava! My account is locked and
all that, mainly as got fed up of porn bot replies and well while I do use
it as a social it?s largely folks I do ride with even if sometimes the gap can be measured in years between rides!

Roger, memory is not your forte' but with a severe concussion it is supposed to be mine? Until around 2013 I couldn't even remember where I had worked until I found some of my resume's on-line that had be reduced because employment agencies wanted a
streamlined resume. It took me quite a while to find enough of them to build up my memory.

I'm a bit curious as to why you would respond at all to Liebermann who would stab you in the back in a second if he thought you weren't giving him all of the respect he believes he is worth as the world's greatest expert that could never find a job. Just
look at where he is getting that vast knowledge - Wikipedia and Google.

Didn't I tell you all that Covid-19 was not dangerous to normally healthy people and that you should NOT take mRNA vaccines? Didn't I tell you that I was a member of the team trying to find the cause of AIDS? That I designed the microtitration device and
the thermocycler and even showed everyone the device which were for sale on Ebay? Didn't Mr. Cannot Work tell you that I didn't do that? That Covid-19 was deadly and everyone should get the shot which had not been shown to have damaged something like 90%
of the people that have taken it? I can explain how and why mRNA vaccines damage you in about 100 different ways but it is rather boring. But most of you stood in line to have your lives shortened.

Post your rides on Strava. Otherwise, I don't believe you.

If there is one person in this world I really want to impress it is a lying POS who wants everyone to believe he is an expert at everything but who has never held a real job.

I never was and never will be a Stravite. But isn't a major reason for
its existence the fact that others can follow you?

If someone does that, it seems weird to call it stalking.

And yes, Strava has _always_ had that feature - since day one of the
    release.

Where did you get your JD? Although the project was for the military, it was through an LLC who hired me as a subcontractor from the company I worked for. I'm sure you would have no propblems biting the hand that feeds you, but I purposely entered the
chamber before complete pump-out on the mistaken belief that there had to be a safety margin. What the hell do you know about working a real job? You are nothing more than a signature on the paperwork of someone else.
