You're afraid of NOT having a gun. Because the world is so, so, so dangerous!!! :-(

Frank, you live in your nice little all white cacoon of Poland, OH. You deny that illegal alien criminals exist. You deny that Fauci's biological warfare weapon exists and you deny virtually any threat to America or the people thereof.

That other people far more principled see things differently frightens you because deep down you think that they may be right and God knows that you cannot admit that you could be wrong says a great deal about you.

What is so strange about 05:00? I've been getting up at 5 in the
morning for much of my life, and my grandfather got up "before day
    light" as a normal "thing".

Is it some sort of modern "thing" to lay about in bed when one could
be up and about, doing something productive?

People who work or worked for a living normally have the habit of getting up early. Frank and Flunky think that peculiar.

Krygowski seems to believe I get up early specifically to pick on him. >>Narcissists tend to believe everything is about them.

Wasn't it you that said you got up early and took the garbage out?

One can only assume that made you think of Frankie and so you replied
    to his latest :-)

I wake up early, eager to get out of bed and go do something.

My coffee is brewing as I'm getting dressed, and then I often go for a
walk, taking the garbage can out to the curb on the garbage pickup
    days.

After my walk I dispense with other essential morning functions and
then I sit down at the computer, scribble a few ideas I conjured up on
my walk about my current project, book, or whatever, and only then am
I surprised and delighted to see some of Krygowski's late night drivel
    on Usenet...

I can't resist pointing out his many failings, and it seems to have
benefited him, as well, as he's became a little less obnoxious.

He seems to have come to the understanding that nobody likes a
braggart, and that his bragging is probably why so many of his bike
    club members avoid him.

Here's more information on early risers....

"As for who is happier, many studies have indeed shown an association
between being a morning person and greater happiness. For a recent
example, consider a study of hundreds of medical students conducted at
Dokuz Eylul University in Turkey ? higher scores in morningness (ie, a self-reported preference for getting up early) were associated with
scoring higher on a questionnaire measure of happiness."

    [....]

"According to a study carried out at the University of Leipzig,
[morning] lark emotional advantage also manifests in greater
satisfaction with life and reduced vulnerability to mental health
problems. Other studies suggest that people who are [night] owls are
more likely than [morning] larks to experience symptoms of depression, seasonal affective disorder and substance abuse problems."

I suppose ir is also a meaningful mark of success. We had Flunky makingf fun of me because I was the first one ro work and already well into the workday before others arrived. But the owner of the company was also very early and very successful.

Flunky wanders in any time he pleases and has never been successful at anything. This is unfortunate for him. Perhaps he too could have been successful and rather than denying that I have a lot of money from my work, he could be looking at a good
    investment portfolio himself.
