• POlitics on RBT

From Catrike Ryder@21:1/5 to All on Sat Jul 26 12:45:54 2025
Last week I spent time with sixteen members of my family who ranged
from flag waving far right to woke far left, including "all
politicians are assholes" (me). We get along famously, and politics
was never mentioned. Too bad RBT can't be like that.

Politics is involved in everything here. Should we not respond to the comments of Frank or Liebermann because it might be argumentative? We aren't a family and don't have to maintain peace.

It's entirely possible to disagree, and elucidate a counter
argument, without being an ass. Trust me on that.

That is definitely takes two or more to tango thing, and yes in general I
find the bickering over guns/Trump fairly dull, hence I often just mark sub
or even entire threads as read, and move on.

You might want to explain that to Liebermann. At breakfast this morning, the people at the next tablke were remarking on how the "Canadian Geese" were not migrating this year.

Aaccording to Liebermann they are morons because they are not "Canadian" geese but Canada Geese and they do not migrate because according to him they are permanent fixtures and do not migrate,

If you want to talk bicycles, Flunky apparently cannot see a man trying to put his shoe back on after pulling it off because he is accelerating in high gear. So you have your choice of subjects either of which has a know it all that knows nothing. Hey,
Flunky, tell everyone tyhat you can't turn more than 180 degrees around a downhill turn.

In either case you have these brilliant people telling you that you don't know what you are talking about while making the world's stupidest comments.

I can understand that. But I like catching Liebermann or Flunky is really stupid comments. Flounky cannot see a man trying to put is shoe back on because the Boa was not tight enough and when he tried to accelerate, his heel pulled out. I saw something
completely different than he did apparently. So what was it that he saw?

Is there ONE thing that I could say that Liebermann wouldn't dispute? I spent years riding past a reservoir which is used to feet the fire hydrants in an adjacent housing area and when I talk about the mud from heavy rain filling it up he disputes that
there was EVER any reservoir there. He has never been there. He only knows its posision from a mapping program. What is wrong with a person that would do that? He is even denying the SIGN telling people to keep out because there is deep mud there now.

Maybe you should go back in to the fact that I'm a navigator and he doesn't even know why there are longitude and latitude lines on a chart of open ocean. Of that he publishes a picture of a sexton and star tables and pretends that it is his? He doesn't
even know that one of the angles on a sexton is a right triangle so that you can simply use trig to tell distance from two shore points.

Flunky thinks that Trump is going to lose a majority in the house and senate. He believes NBC, ABC and CBS saying that people disapprove of this or that. While they aren't saying that NO ONE will vote for Democrats anymore. Even California is turning
    around.
