From wayne.beardsley@gmail.com@21:1/5 to All on Mon Mar 28 22:46:20 2022
A U.S. judge ruled on Monday that former President Donald Trump "more likely than not" committed a felony by trying to pressure his vice president to obstruct Congress and overturn his election defeat.

This isn't really a "ruling". It's the opinion of Los Angeles district
court judge David Carter, described by CNN as having a "colorful" history.

"Carter does not have the ability to prosecute Trump, but his reasoning
is an acknowledgment by a federal court that Trump's interest in
overturning the election could be considered criminal."

You're entitled to your opinion of course, and I'm neither a judge or a lawyer, but it appears that there is an increasing amount of evidence, and an increasing probability that Trump will eventually be indicted. I think prosecutors are holding back
because of the political sensitivities involved, and an appreciation of the need to get it right the first time. Either way, Trump's band of loyal (but misguided) followers will probably hold massive demonstrations and attempt to disrupt proceedings. I'
m sure the justice department is well aware of that and proceeding cautiously.

I think the establishment is very concerned about an indictment. If it happens, it will spill over in to a lot of Congress people and their shenanigans.
