• MOLNLYCKE THREAD

From Bonnie Billuni@21:1/5 to All on Wed Jan 11 18:38:08 2023
Someone brought me a baggie full of several spools of this thread. I have read that it is very old and high quality thread. But I have not been able to find out if this thread can be used in your embroidery machine?
Can anyone tell me the answer to this question?

    Thank you much

Impossible to answer, without knowing the age or the conditions
under which it has been stored. I would stitch a small sample
design, then subject it to various stress tests, (washing, rubbing,
heat, etc) to establish whether it is worth using for an actual
    project.

Molnlycke is a brand that specializes in medical supplies, including surgical thread. While it is possible that Molnlycke thread could be used in an embroidery machine, it is not specifically designed or marketed for that purpose.

Embroidery machines typically use thread specifically designed for use in these machines, which have different requirements than surgical thread. Embroidery thread is made from a finer, stronger, and more uniform material that allows for smooth and
consistent stitching. Surgical thread, on the other hand, is designed for strength and durability in medical procedures.

If you are looking for thread to use in an embroidery machine, I would recommend checking with your local sewing or embroidery supply store for thread that is specifically designed for that purpose. They can recommend the best thread for your machine and
the type of embroidery you are doing.
