My step-mom buys frozen cooked whole shrimp that has to have the head
and the shell removed. I had never seen shrimp sold this way before -
she has to go to the fish market to buy it. It's actually quite tasty.

That looks like something from the restaurant in Ikea. That's good
thing. We have been known to grab a bite to eat when shopping there and
have even jumped off the highway on the way home to grab a cheap and
delicious dinner. I am surprised that they don't have buffets or
sandwich bars at Ikea. People have to assemble just about everything
else they buy there.
Kahuku used to be famous for their shrimp farms but my guess is that
shrimps are no longer grown/farmed there. The shrimp I get at the market
are from Vietnam or Thailand or India. Indeed, it is all frozen shrimp.

I'm not a big enough fan of shrimp to buy them fresh with the shells on
and bother to peel them. I remember when I was a teenager living in TN
my mother bought frozen shrimp to serve shrimp cocktail at holiday
dinners and they been shelled.
I occasionally buy them frozen with the shells on. My preference
is the EZ-peel ones that have had the shell slit up the back and
have been deveined.

I used to love SOS. I used Armour chipped beef. Then it went away

Put cream of any meat on toast, and it's not bad. Thanks, Pastorio!
I grew up with creamed, canned shrimp on toast. Don't hate it until

Hat's off to Bob Pastorio for his "cream of anything" (although it

I won't knock your having to use canned shrimp because you live in a landlocked area. There is a recipe I got from a local restaurant in
SC that calls for small fresh shelled shrimp & ground pork breakfast
sausage, served in a cream sauce, spooned over hot biscuits.
Delicious!

Shrimp and grits still isn't on menus here. The shrimp is easy to get.
The problem is finding proper grits. I am curious about shrimp and
grits and if it were on a menu I would be likely to try it even though a
few people have suggested I would be disappointed.

I can sure believe that, your Majesty.
Perhaps you should start out by first eating ONE grit and not attempt a
whole bowl of grits. Or maybe you can find a place that uses Gullah seasonings.
If all else fails, you could just have a bowl of chitlins. You might

Credit the Food Network. People started seeing shrimp and grits
on tv shows and restaurants started serving it. We've got a few
places up here that serve it. They're all relatively pricy
places. Prices range $20, $22, $28.65.
I see one place has grits with a bunch of vegetables and cheese
on top for $26. A little something for the vegetarians.

Putin intends to weaponise Trump's ignorance, vanity

wreck its government, economy, and global standing.
It's all working perfectly.

WTF is that matter with that man? Yesterday he said that Ukraine started
the war with Russia. I think most of us remember that Russia invaded
Ukraine, not the other way around. They had been building up for it for
a while and saying they were preparing for a military operation. The US
was ready and willing to assist in a proxy war against their common enemy.
And, yes. MAGA wants us to shut the doors and have nothing to do

It would nice if the US was more consistent in their foreign relations.
They have been interested in Cuba for more than 150 years. They expanded across to the Pacific and took control of Mexican territory. They had an isolationist policy for a while but got sucked into WWI and then
weaseled out of the Treaty of Veraille so that saved them going in to
fight Germany in 1939 with their allies before they got roped into that
one. They were quick to drag the UN into Korea. They found a way to get involved in Vietnam. More recently they gave Iraq tacit approval to
invade Kuwait but then turned around and organized a rescue mission to
chase them back. About a decade later they fabricated a story about WMDs
as an excuse to invade Iraq. Now he wants to pull everything back??? US foreign policy now seems to depend on the day of the week.

It's Putin's revenge for the US having supported the Islamist "freedom fighters" in Afghanistan that gave the Soviets their own Vietnam which eventually led to the collapse of the USSR.

Brown sugar and/or cocoa or peanut butter in grits or polenta? You must
have a major sweet tooth.
Jamie Oliver did an interesting chocolate oatmeal porridge. It involved processing processing some large flake oatmeal along with some medjool
dates 2and hazelnuts and adding some cocoa powder orange zest and some
more oatmeal and pulse it together. With most of the oatmeal finely processed it cooks in a few minutes. Serve hot topped with plain yogurt
and raspberries or banana. I left out the nuts when I made it.
I think Trump wants some sort of empire, to feed his narcissism.

true. :) i have dialed it back quite a bit in
recent years but some things i'll still eat at times.
Mom's constantly baking and there are always cookies,
cakes, etc around to tempt me.
right now there is a small chocolate cake with
chocolate frosting in the fridge, two kinds of
cookies (chocolate chip walnut and molasses with
raspberry jam), i think we also have a peanut butter
pie and several dozen cookies of various kinds in
the freezer and then about 6k of chocolate bars that
are much better than the commercial stuff on standby
for eating or cooking with, plus close to 6lbs of
semi-sweet chocolate chips and then plenty of sugar
and brown sugar on hand, sweetened condensed milk,
a gallon of molasses, etc...
Some people say Trump is an ass. Well, he's not so much an ass as an
assET, a Russian one.

It is a little concerning to hear that imbecile talking about how
Ukraine started the war because they should have just let Russia have
the territory, especially when he is ranting about wanting to take over
the Panama Canal, making Canada the 51st state and taking Greenland. His demented little mind thinks he should have it and that is all the reason
he needs.
One thing that we have learned from that nitwit's first month on the job
is that American policy is unreliable and treaties with them are not
worth the paper they are written on.

That's a lot of sweet stuff, dude! I have a half a gallon of salted
caramel ice cream in the freezer. A woman in the building where I work
gave everyone a post-Valentines Day heart shaped box filled with
Hershey's Kisses. Those are the only sweets I have in the house.
I
don't count the white sugar I use to make "nectar" for the hummingbird feeder. I rarely cook anything that requires sugar. I was given a
bottle of pure Canadian maple syrup last year but since I'm not a big
fan of pancakes or waffles I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it.
The bottle is pretty, though; shaped like a maple leaf. I do have an
old family recipe for Spice Cake which calls for maple frosting. It's
not likely I'll be baking and frosting a cake anytime soon but it's an option. :)

That's asking wayyyyyyy too much of Americans. Any male, white,

If it was not for the debate, it could have been worse. They got caught

I do give Trump credit for his ability to gather followers that believe >anything he tells them. Some religious leaders have the same ability.

If it was not for the debate, it could have been worse. They got caught last minute when they realized Biden was done for. They should have
been looking and deciding many months earlier.
I do give Trump credit for his ability to gather followers that believe anything he tells them.
Like Jim Baker, Joel Osteen and such. People are easily duped and send
them money. I guess they just cannot think for themselves so they let others do it for them.

That's a lot of sweet stuff, dude! I have a half a gallon of salted
caramel ice cream in the freezer. A woman in the building where I work
gave everyone a post-Valentines Day heart shaped box filled with
Hershey's Kisses. Those are the only sweets I have in the house.
those are barely edible and rather horrid once you're used to
eating better chocolate. someone gave us some of those too and
i probably won't touch them other than perhaps melting them in
some oatmeal or hot chocolate or something... out of hand they
are as bad as the no chocolate flavor rpbcs.
I
don't count the white sugar I use to make "nectar" for the hummingbird
feeder.
It's
not likely I'll be baking and frosting a cake anytime soon but it's an
option. :)
i love maple syrup and maple sugar candy. those are 100%
divine (and i'm not into theology or miracles but they are
both gifts from nature of the highest order).
luckily i can get by on artificial flavored maple anything
and have in the past made my own maple buns. i do impromptu
versions of those once in a while by making maple flavored
frosting and add peanuts and then some good chocolate
chunks to nibble along with.
when making some white chocolates filled with maple and
walnut pieces i would use maple syrup as a part of the
white chocolate based filling and that was a great combination
but not really required because the walnuts (or black walnuts)
are so strongly flavored you probably wouldn't notice the
flavor differences.

Everyone & his dog believes they have a 100%

despite that dogs cannot understand language
syntax, their perception of veracity only by
tones, overtones, and yes, undertones is
much more accurate than any human.
King Donald has a combination of:
- Large resonant empty space in his skull.

Also a lot of his judgement is done by
'gut feeling' due to his general dimness

So he thinks about it for a few seconds

he actually believes it to be true.
Thus, what he says are technically not lies.

Shrimp and grits still isn't on menus here. The shrimp is easy to

Shrimp and grits is not a classic in the north. Until recently,
the only place I ever saw grits (besides the Quaker instant grits
on the grocery store shelf) was a hillbilly diner.
I've never been impressed by shrimp and grits. I've tried it at more
than one restaurant since I've lived in SC and it's just not that
great.

It's a very simple dish with a careful balance because shrimp aren't a
strong flavor. It takes little to overwhelm it.
I think this one would suit you.

Speaking of "racist", this is HILARIOUS...!!!
Racist piece of shite Joy(LESS!) Reid got canned from her VILE TV
show...
Read and LAUGH...!!!
"Reid's attacks led President Trump to cheer her ouster, calling Reid a âmentally obnoxious racist.â...

"An emotional Joy Reid said sheâs ânot sorryâ that she âwent hard on so
many issuesâ as the Donald Trump-bashing anchor broke her silence after getting fired by MSNBC...
âIâve been through every emotion from, you know anger, rage, disappointmentâŚ.guilt..that I let my team lose their jobs,â Reid rambled during a 10-minute Zoom call to the podcast âWin With Black Womenâ on Sunday...
The left-wing firebrand has been criticized for her remarks about white people, including referring to âwhite tears,â as well as a statement
that white women âdid not show upâ to vote for former Vice President Kamala Harris in the recent election...
Her attacks led President Trump to cheer her ouster, calling Reid a âmentally obnoxious racist.â...
But Reid remained defiant on the podcast, which was watched by some
10,000 viewers...
âIâm not sorry. I am not sorry that I stood up for those those things,â Reid said as she ticked off a list of issues her show, âThe ReidOut,â regularly covered, including Black Lives Matter, Asian Americans âbeing targeted,â Gaza and immigrants...
âBut in the end, where I really land⌠is just gratitude. Just pure gratitude and gratitude. Not just because people would take the time to
get on a call like this or to take care of me. But also that my show had value.â...
Reid was spotted wearing a fur-like coat and green baseball cap as she
ducked out of her $1 million Maryland home in exclusive photos taken by
The Post shortly after being fired Sunday..."
