We just ordered one for a wedding present for our niece.

I have a waffle iron that cooks two waffles at a time. I can cook up a
batch of waffles in half the time! It's just so wonderful!

That's fantastic. I wish someone would invent a waffle iron that can

I don't have a waffle iron, I just buy the frozen ones
when I get a hankering for them. But, if I were getting
married and someone was going to gift me one, I'd like

I didn't know waffles were so big in the US. We've never made one at
home and away from home, I may have had 1 or 2 in all my life. And I
was born next to the birth country of the waffle!

We like out Cuisinart waffle maker. If you want one you should probably
check out garage sales. I would expect them to be one of those items
bought on a whim or as a gift and never used. My wife and I make waffles about once a month but I don't know anyone else who actually makes them.

I was thinking I'd like the B&D model if I were on the
verge of trotting down the aisle. Both could be having
breakfast together instead of one chowing down while the
other person is still waiting on their waffle to cook.

When the kids were young, we had a waffle iron that made 5 (or was it
    6?) heart-shaped waffles at a time.

Now we have one that makes two fairly large ones at a time.

I have a very old chrome looking waffle iron from the 1950's that makes
two (square) waffles at a time. I vaguely remember my mother using it
when I was a kid. For some reason she kept it forever and I wound up
with it. I don't feel like dragging it out of the pantry to check the
brand or snap another pic of it. It's very retro. Cooking waffles are
simply not that interesting to me.

I think that few people use waffle irons often enough to bother getting
or keeping a waffle iron. My wife and I have one and use it quite often.
While I am happy with pancakes my wife really likes waffles. Pancakes
are a snap to make from scratch but waffles are considerably more work.
The eggs have to be separated and the whites beaten then folding into
the batter. It's not the end of the world but enough to make me opt for
the easier pancakes. And then EdP went and told me about that good mix
where you just add water. Pancakes it is.

Our waffle maker goes back to about 1966 when we got married. The
griddle flips to flat so I use it for grilled cheese. Can't recall the
    last time we made waffles.

Blueberry pancakes this week. Made enough for four breakfasts so
    Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Monday.

Should you have a desire for a waffle, don't go to a restaurant named

I have a very old chrome looking waffle iron from the 1950's that makes
two (square) waffles at a time.  I vaguely remember my mother using it
when I was a kid.  For some reason she kept it forever and I wound up
with it.  I don't feel like dragging it out of the pantry to check the
brand or snap another pic of it.  It's very retro.  Cooking waffles are
simply not that interesting to me.

I think that few people use waffle irons often enough to bother getting
    or keeping a waffle iron.

Then again, a few people get and keep waffle irons and only use
them once or twice a year.

My wife and I have one and use it quite often.
While I am happy with pancakes my wife really likes waffles. Pancakes
are a snap to make from scratch but waffles are considerably more work.
The eggs have to be separated and the whites beaten then folding into
    the batter.

    That's a choice, not a necessity.

I realize they woked up and changed the name but to tell the truth I had
not noticed if they even sold that stuff any more because I was so
uninterested in buying pancake mix I never used to look to see what was available. However, I have fond memories of it as a kid. Even though we
had home made pancakes and waffles with Old Tyme syrup we used to get
Aunt Jemima pancakes and syrup at the Canadian National Exhibition in
Toronto. There was the Pure Foods Building where all sorts of food
producers were flogging samples. As kids we could go there for the day
and get enough food samples that we did not need to take or buy a lunch.
Aunt Jemimas was one of our favourites.

They don't exist here. We used to have Smitty's Pancake House here.
Apparently the chain still exists but there are few outlets. That is
where I first realized that pancake specialty restaurants make the worst pancakes. Since they usually do waffles as well I assumed the waffles
would be equally bad. The last time I had pancakes in an independent
pancake house they too were awful.

Yep. In some churches the bread and wine are symbolic of the body and
blood of Christ. Others think that a little prayer and mumbo jumbo
transforms it into the actual blood and body.

I have no idea. Apart from stroopwafels, waffles aren't really on my

Food and cooking are not on your radar screen either. It's quite
strange. Lunch today was pork and eggplant. Gosh, it's good!

Excellent stuff! Probably no eggplant for me, but the rest looks
    awesome!

My second favorite dish would be spicy pork and bitter melon. You
probably won't care for that either. Third would be mapo tofu. These
dishes are fast, cheap, and easy, to prepare.

I'm intrigued! Bitter melon and spicy pork? You're saying it works well together? Tofu for me, is mostly just filler. It is so mild, it doesn't
really add much. Maybe it is also just that bad quality available here?

Jill, you also missed the juvenile double-entendre
when Joan used the acronym B&D ('Black & Decker')
triggering Bryan to post a lameful link to a
    soft-core 'Bondage & Discipline' website.

Hey, I put some time into finding that.  Most of the sites had nudity
which I thought inappropriate to link to.

Apparently, Bryan has a soft-core 'thing' for
Joan, much in the manner Greg has for you.

    Ick.  But not surprising.

Greg is a homo, and I've never had any desires for physically
unattractive women.  I can imagine the 20+ year old pic from the
mugshots page aged, and Michael posted a recent one of Joan looking like
    a grouchy old church lady.

Have you seen a pic of Queen McCrone that was taken this century?

The one on the old mugshot page was certainly pre-2005, maybe even 2000.
I think that mine was put up sometime 2003-2005, and the photo of me
was taken in 1997. It's easy to believe that she also used a younger
picture of herself. That said, whatever the ravages of time may have
done to her, you can bet your ass that there are Gullah men who'd love
to bed a natural blonde. Well, at least a *used to be* blonde. "The
old gray mare, she ain't what she used to be," twenty some years ago,
and that was what it was back when. Still, I'd bet that if she put in a
bit more effort than she does in her cooking endeavors, that she could
bag a well hung Gullah man to give her the rogering she's needed for a
    long, long time.

But since her withered old vaginal cavity is as dry as Death Valley in
July, she'd need a goodly amount of "lube" in order to affect "sexual congress"...

    Lol...

She's in luck then! Since this is rfc, I think there must surely be a good recipe for lube floating around! ;)
