It's not surprising that food would taste different in a foreign country
or even in a different state/providence. The Chinese food on the
mainland is totally different from the Chinese food in Hawaii. OTOH, the Italian food is pretty much the same in Montana as it is in Hawaii. I'm
not expecting it to taste the same as in Italy. Managia!

This is the truth! Chinese food in sweden, is generally horrible. Chinese >food in china is absolutely amazing!
There is only one restaurant in europe, in Amsterdam, that served
anything
close to what I had in china. Their peking duck was divine!
The owner had ambition. He turned chinese into a fine-dining experience,
with white linen table cloth and waiters in tuxedos. Amazing place!
In my experience, the ambition and passion of hte owner is very
important.
In sweden there was once a legendary pakistani place that did infinite >tasting menus.
The default was 12 dishes. Again, fine-dining. The owner memorized the
face and name of every guest and would greet everyone visiting by name. >Amazing!
And should you not be satisfied after the 12 small dishes, he would
instruct the chef to improvise until you were happy. I think we did 14 or
15 once, and that was what we could stomach.
Sadly he died, his son inherited it, and turned it into an average indian >place with emphasis on cheap lunch, and after a few years it then closed.
The original owner and founder was the soul of the restaurant. May he
rest
in peace!

Mom likes coke and buys it, i don't but since she
doesn't want to drink a whole 12oz can i drink a few
ounces that is left-over. it's not enough caffiene
to bother me, but left to my own devices i'd not
buy the stuff myself. i do like hot-chocolate once
in a while instead but that's not often - it is very
sweet and i prefer to blend it with extra cocoa to
tone it down. however, when i do this it makes it
much more caffiene so it isn't too often i want that
much of a boost.

But then they'd have to peel/ cut/ squeeze/ bite/ chew

That is a lot of skilled hand/teeth labour. For untrained

What's your suggestion for getting them to buy oranges?
Armed inspectors visiting their houses for a fruit check?
Do you ever make it yourself? You can adjust the sweetness. Just mix
some sugar and cocoa powder together and add a little milk to it to
make a paste. Then you can add more milk and stick it in the microwave
or add hot milk. You just have to be careful nuking the mixture because there seems to be some magical point at which it boils over and makes a
hell of a mess.

When I was a teen I had a friend whose whole family had a thing about
coke. It was long after they stopped putting cocaine in it but they all seemed to be strung out. They had a Coke fridge in the basement and they
used to have stock pile of at least a half dozen full cases of it at any time.... always the small bottles. He had it first thing in the morning

That could have been an addiction to caffeine, but maybe not. As far as caffeine levels goes, you're probably better off with Mountain Dew. If

It's manipulating the market on a global scale. That's what this is all
about really. Valuing money above all and not caring about people makes
it all possible.
I quit my condo board because they put the condo reserve money into a

protect the Association's money. Well, that's my feeling about it,
anyway. How many times have we seen some smiling clown in a suit say

Maybe that should have been all the more reason to stay on to board.
Then you could fight them, though that can be a losing cause. The board
is supposed to protect the money, not to play games and invest it for
provide because there is always the risk of loss.
However, I can appreciate leaving with frustration. I was on the board
of a charity that did riding therapy for the physically and mentally disabled. We had a new board member who for some reason was being
groomed to take over as president. I had been off for a while after
heart surgery and my first time back I had a bad run in with this woman.
I had assigned a new volunteer to a task. The other board member came
along and countermanded my assignment, grabbed the woman by the wrist
and yanked her away. How dare she overrule me and how dare she put her
hands on a volunteer. I emailed the president to advise her of the
incident and she replied in support of her new buddy. I was stunned and
so pissed off I resigned immediately. Three of our long time and best volunteers who witnessed the incident all quit along with me, and of
their own accord. I had no suggested that.
My primary purpose as a board member was to not get my ass sued - so I
quit.
And that is a real concern. Almost two years after that incident I was served with paper and was sued along with the charity. One of the
volunteers the president had agreed to take got injured doing something
he was told not to. It turned out she had worked a deal with the an organization that works with parolees and had arranged for him to do community service with us.

Tariffs can be a useful tool but it's not something that should be used

that had problems with alcohol in 2023. Well, it would be except they're
all dead. The number of Americans that have their family ripped apart by >booze is no doubt, considerably higher. Alcohol is the reason that my >granddaughter doesn't live with her dad. For a lot of folks, alcohol is >mostly a roadblock to their growth, development, and future.

Trump surrounds himself with people that will only tell him what he
wants to hear. People like that will always get you into trouble.

Bush II was the same. He got rid of military and security advisors who

Iraq. He was told repeatedly not to talk about the reports about yellow
cake from Niger because they had already been refuted. He was told
there were no WMDs.
