• Costco croissants

From Dave Smith@21:1/5 to All on Sun Mar 2 13:20:05 2025
I think I posted a while back about about really disappointing
croissants that I bought at two different local store, and both were
done in their in store bakery. Then I tried Costco's fresh baked
croissants. They were a lot cheaper and a heck of a lot better than the
local grocery store's product. On my last trip to Costco I bought a box
of frozen ready to cook croissants. I tried them this morning and they
were terrific. They take up a lot less room in the freezer and you don't
have to hurry as much to use them up. They are easy to cook. Take them
hour 20-30 minutes before cooking and toss them into a 350 oven for 25
minutes. I am not saying you are going to imagine yourself at a Parisian
cafe, but they are about the best croissants I have had around here in
    years.

Are there no artisanal bakeries where you are? (Not that I know of any
    where I am.)

I've always wondered what wonderful tasting yet harmful chemicals Costco is loading all their bakery items up with.

I'm sure it will come out all the wonderful things people are ingesting from Costco

Not sure you'll be able to return your kidneys to them at that point though.

it is rare that we have a lot of room in the freezer.

I don't think that product is available in Hawaii. Too bad. My guess is
that I might be able to purchase a case of the stuff but that's too
ridiculous to consider. How many croissants were you able to buy? Being
able to buy a dozen would be a wonderful thing.

The frozen ready to bake come in a box of 30. That takes about the same
amount of freezer space as a pack of 12 baked croissants.

My guess is that Costco uses the same frozen product for the baked
croissants sold in their stores. The case that I can probably get would
have about 204 ready to bake products. The croissants have to be
    defrosted and proofed, right?

They may well do that. The thing is that the cooked croissants they sell
come in a large clamshell package that takes up a lot of room in the
freezer and they have a more limited shelf life than the uncooked
product. Having had the cooked and the uncooked products I can say that
the freshly cooked frozen croissants are far superior to the previously
    cooked ones.

Zelenskyy was a comic best known for playing a piano, on TV, with his
    male member...

What we saw Friday at the White House was an ungrateful child demanding
    more as his people die...

The meeting between Trump and Zelensky was riveting and historical...!!!

Americans are now going to insist on more of these very public meetings,
and Trump will give them to us...

Will the Dems do the same? If they want to win future elections...

No! They will not! Open discussion is a garlic covered cross, suddenly
exposed to liberal policymakers. Hiss, cover one's face and fade away.
That method will also work on many "Republican" policymakers.

The other night was refreshing to see, no matter how events turn out.
J.D. Vance rocketed up in my estimation. Others mileage may vary.

    It was GREAT, wasn't it...???

As one commentator, David Goldman, wrote:

"President Donald Trump and Vice-President J.D. Vance mopped the floor
with the hapless Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky in the full view of
the American public, to the horror of the diplomats who have lied about
the Ukraine war from the outset...

It was a moment worthy of the American movie classics of the 1930s,
reminiscent of the wonderful moment in “The Wizard of Oz” when the
Wizard begs Dorothy and her companions, “Pay no attention to that man
    behind the curtain!”...

Trump has done something no American president, indeed no world leader,
has done: He exposed the whole sordid business of arranging war and
peace among contending states to the full view of the public...

And he told the American people that it was good for them to see what
was happening with their own eyes..."
