What the hell does one do with sixty eggs plus ten that we already had?

They will last a LONG time if kept well chilled. Granted
the air bubble will increase, but that just makes them
easier to peel if you're doing egg salad.

I see a lot of meatloaf, egg drop soup, cakes, pies, egg
salad, salads topped with chopped boiled eggs, fried eggs,
and poached eggs in your future. Don't forget an egg
sandwich for lunch for several weeks, too. Now would be
a good time to make a big jar of pickled eggs.

Yes, supermarket eggs are easier to peel than when we still had our
    own chickens.

I just hope this surplus of eggs doesn't make Leo want

Eggs last three to five weeks. Or you can freeze them (details
    available on the web).

I'm not panicked. Sure, paying $5.89 for a dozen eggs made me
raise my eyebrows last week. Those were the slightly fancy
"Eggland's Best" eggs, the taste of which my husband prefers.
I could have got regular eggs for $5.59. These are size large,
which is satisfactory for our uses.

I haven't priced eggs since the bird flu scare triggered some panic
buying. I get large eggs for free (at least, as long as my job holds
out; the end date is still very much up in the air) from the chickens my manager and his wife keep. They eat/use a lot of eggs yet still have a surfeit. So he brings little half-dozen cartons to give to me and to
the guys who work across the hall from us. Depending upon what I'm
cooking, a half dozen eggs can easily last me a month.

There's two kinds of eggs in Hawaii. Mainland eggs and local eggs. The
local eggs has a more orange yolk. It presents a more appealing egg when
cooked over easy. I can't say if it's more tasty than mainland eggs.
Local eggs have traditionally been more expensive than mainland eggs.

The same thing is true with milk. The local milk is 2 or 3 bucks more
than mainland milk. My guess is that the mainland milk is shipped over
here frozen. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between mainland
and local milk - but then, I'm no milk connoisseur.

I am waiting to see what Trump is really up to. We have seen one major distraction after another. No one seems to be noticing that he has
become a dictator and is ruling by executive order. He has started a
trade war with his two closest neighbours, trading partners and allies.
He has decided to cut off aid Ukraine, aid that had been approved by
Congress. How ironic that they guy whose supporters whined so much about democracy are completely overlooking the fact that their leader is now basically a dictator.

I just heard President Trump saying that he's having Ukraine airfreight
us HUGE loads of eggs, David...

A BILLION or so dollars worth to start...

This is to help repay us the $350 BILLION we've gifted Ukraine...

Very soon, eggs will be cheaper even than the AIR we breathe...!!!

Officer dave, Our congress is now pretty much ineffectual. Maga party
have the majority, and they will always rubber stamp anything trump puts
    before them.

You guys and the rest of the world will have to go on your own for a
while (maybe permanently), because the United States has been
functionally disabled. I wish you well.

Don't look to us for any sort of leadership or aid. Don't expect us to participate in any constructive collaboration in any area. Expect us to disrupt, dismantle, and destroy anything that has been working well.

We are no longer your ally. You should consider us either neutral, or a
    minor (impotent) enemy.

I am sorry for that, and almost half of americans are. But this is what
has happened. We are just as fucked as you are. About 51% of us wanted
this, but I am not one of them.

This is just "The art of the deal". And it will get much worse.

2.13% didn't NOT want this enough to vote for the only real
competition. Had they done that, you wouldn't have ended up with a

Incorrect. We don't know what the ones who did not vote really wanted.
Maybe they forgot, maybe they don't care, maybe they were so sure that
Trump would win they couldn't be bothered.

But to say they were all against Trump is very stupid and not correct.
