I saw Hanoi Jane when I was a freshman at Western Illinois University in
    autumn of 1972...

She spoke to the crowd and was very MESMERIZING... she was raging
against Nixon and the Vietnam War...

She is now 87, looks like 50...

Despite her politics I like her, her first movie was in 1960 (Tall
Story), and my fave flick of hers is "Sunday In New York", 1964:

"In 2019, when asked if she disliked any of her films, Fonda commented
that she was "surprised how many people say they love Sunday in New
    York. Why?"

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunday_in_New_York

"Sunday in New York is a 1963 American romantic comedy film directed by
Peter Tewksbury from a screenplay by Norman Krasna, based on Krasna's
1961 play of the same name. Filmed in Metrocolor, the film stars Cliff Robertson, Jane Fonda, and Rod Taylor, with Robert Culp, Jo Morrow, and
Jim Backus. The score was composed and recorded by Peter Nero, who also
appears as himself performing in a nightclub; Mel Tormé sang the title
    song...

According to Time magazine, "Sunday in New York is another brightly
salacious Hollywood comedy about the way of a man with a maid who just
may. 'This motion picture,' leers an announcement flashed on the screen
as a teaser, 'is dedicated to the proposition that every girl
    gets...sooner or later.'...

As usual, winking wickedness turns out to be mostly eyewash, but the plot—more to be pitied than censored—gets a buoyant lift from stars Jane Fonda, Cliff Robertson and Rod Taylor. All three abandon themselves to
the film version of Norman Krasna's trite Broadway farce with disarming
faith, as though one more glossy, glittering package of pseudo sex might
    save the world."...

Jane Fonda agreed to star in the film for a fee of $100,000 (equivalent
    to $1,027,000 in 2024)....

She later described her character as "an absolute bore", adding, "She
talks so much about her virginity; and you know the more she talks about
it, the more it's on her mind. I mean, for God's sake, let her make her
mind up one way or the other—and stop all that talking..."

Here she is on Bill Maher's podcast a whiles back, enjoy!

Jane Fonda | Club Random with Bill Maher:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAaK3SctGW8

"Bill Maher and Jane Fonda on how Jane stays so energetic, smart health
and how habits change with age, their mutual commitment to drinking only
in moderation, the Barbarella Halloween costume of the moment, whether
some issues are exaggerated or not in our modern media world, climate
and other countries roles in fixing it, over-regulated California, a
deep dive on Jane’s movies, meditation and mindfulness, and the people
    who inspired Jane the most..."

"Cat Ballou" for me. By the way, Cat's playing on Grit TV tonight which
is on the U-Verse menu. Since I'm already taping three new shows at
that time, and that's a limit, Cat loses. :(
I just couldn't sacrifice a new "Family Guy" which, by the way, has
plenty of liberal bent, but it's too damned funny to boycott.

For me, too. Although that's more about Lee Marvin than Jane Fonda.

You can stream Cat Ballou for free on Plex.

Maybe I'll ask for it on DVD for Christmas. That way, I won't
be at the mercy of licensing agreements on the streaming services.

I could, but it would have commercials. I'd rather spend the $10
    on a DVD.
